We've got 2 E36s in the family as well as a couple of E30s. Don't believe all you hear about E36s, sure they're not so well put together - there's more plastic - but there're fine. Better rear suspension makes them a better drive model for model.

no aircon mate... it has a half obc... going to find a full obc.. from what i understand it should just ''plug in''.darkchild wrote:Nice looking E36 but it desperately needs the facelift grill. I really like the wheels - rare on an E36. No air con?
no schnitzer mods to this car... well maybe some type 3's.

I like it - had the same interior on my old 328i Coupe. I'd ditch the sunroof wind-deflector but apart from that it looks

Well spotted Mick! I guess we won't be coming in the E36 to the meet in May.So it wasn't in Newcastle . Teesside possibly?
Glad you got back safe Tim.......... enjoythe 328 is out the front... the drive home was nice, the e36 handles well with the avis package(or whatever it is) compared to the e30 it @ucking moves... the note from the exhaust(it has a performance one fitted) can only be described as evil...
i enjoyed it ok!!?!?!??? i admit it!!! i enjoyed the @ucker!!!
Yep, that needs to go!capri_rob wrote:I like it - had the same interior on my old 328i Coupe. I'd ditch the sunroof wind-deflector but apart from that it looks
There is a lot of RED on the car, if It was mine I think i'd paint the front lip and rear defuser black. It looks a tidy thing, m3 mirrors are neither here nor there IMO.
The rest looks nice though. Good buy. Has it got a slipper?
I have an LSD off a 328 sport sat in my garage doing nothing

M badges, mirrors , sunroof visor need serving quick and has been said, colour coding of the front lip and rear diffuser looks wrong. I didn't realize it was an early turd, i am guessing '95, '96 ? .
Looks like it has the makings of a nice car

its a lovely car pete... got it booked into herring and palmer(bmw specialists norwich) for a good once over as my mechanical knowledge of these engines is zero.pacerpete wrote:M badges, mirrors , sunroof visor need serving quick and has been said, colour coding of the front lip and rear diffuser looks wrong. the exhaust is a scorpion... and the note is addictive to say the least.
i did however shed a tear for the e30 yesterday.... gone but not forgotten.

the engine is a non nikasil... its been changed.darkchild wrote:Is it the original Nikasil block or has it been replaced? Will you be adding the 325i bits to unleash an extra 30 ponies?
i might look into the manifold swap.. after all they restricted the hell out of the 328's!! other options are the inlet swap and removal of the restrictor in the air box(from what i have heard they have one) then off to clives for a unichip and live remap.
these are possibilities... but with the above mods it should be a sleeper...
im off to essex now to see my old man!... in the 328 lol.
get those mirrors off it and get some genuine m3 jobbies on, also i agree about the front splitter and rear diffuser should be black, apart from that nice find, earlier ones are better for having standard lsd instead of the latter asc shite
They dont rust? Thats priceless!R4N_S_S wrote:i was going to say the exact same thingSUMPCRACKER wrote:I think your doing the right thing, the E36 is faster, better looking, handles better and doesn't rust.

car looks lovely, though a few bits need de colour coding (evo lip and de colour coding)e30bmlover wrote: the exhaust is a scorpion... and the note is addictive to say the least.
im surprised you find the scorpion addictive
i thought it a bit chavvy on my 328, boomy and so noisy on a run.
oh and it lost power with it too
other than that though she looks great

It's got a 65 litre tank, so that works out as 28.5mpg.e30bmlover wrote:im back from essex (cressing) from yesterday when i filled her up to when i arrived back in norwich tonight it managed..... 410 miles to a tank... impressive.

Nice looking motor, love them wheels.
328's are definately the best pound for pound e36.
Quickest/Most effective/easiest mod:
Ditch the rear spoiler, really improves the look of them and goes well with those wheels.
Happy motoring

although i do have a quick question for the gods...
i have one key with the car... apparently it has a cat 1 alarm and immobaliser the code being 3gEWS.. bmw tell me its all done with the key and that i dont need a fob.. they said that as soon as the door is locked they are activated.
is this true?? or do i need a fob??

I hope you enjoy your new carand that its a lucky one (bright red e36 can attract the wrong attention and with your habits?) and thanks for your posts over the years. What finally made you give up on your epic project? and what happened to your alpina cam that was going in?
The immobiliser is in the key, but the E36 dealer alarms were on a fob iirc.e30bmlover wrote:although i do have a quick question for the gods...

You should have three keys - the main one (with a light), another (grey) that opens the doors only and a black plastic wallet key.
