After a recent chat with Ant from A-tech i have decided to go for an M50B25 conversion in my e30.

I have heard good things about him and obviously knows a hell of lot about BMW's.

I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who own's/owned an M50 e30 who could tell me just how much of a difference there is...

Thanks lads :)

I've got the 2.5 12v and have driven an M50 B25 with the same power as mine, 190bhp (on the same dyno) and guess what they felt as fast as each other! The biggest difference with the M50 B25 is better fuel economy (do you do that many miles?) and the engine 'blips' with no load better. The downside is the engine is 20Kg heavier.
2.5K is a reasonable price but not worth it in my opinion, no disrespect Ant.
However it probably wouldn't cost a lot more to go M50? B28 (2.8L) with the B25 throttle body and inlet manifold and remap for 220ish brake. Also this engine weighs the same as your current lump. :D

What do you actually want to gain/achieve from this conversion?
Cheers Alex

If its performance have you considered boosting?
