I have a couple scrappers on axle stands if you're up for a challenge. Neither are moveable at the moment.

I'm based in Yeovil in Somerset.

Just met Lauris. Really nice guy, got some lovely camera equipment too!!! Would be good if more of you guys could help out. You'll have to make the offer to him, he wants people to do this, not be coerced into it!!

Oh his red 2 door is a stunning car. Lovely chrome wrongness!! winkeye

Shame its e30 focused (yes you are all a bunch of wankers, especially that bloke who said about the e36's lol) as I am only a little but further on from Rosco and would happily let you take pictures of my car.

Its kind of an e30 project in that I bought a e30 or two and realised the best modification was to turn it into an e36 winkeye

Lauris, did you find Ham Hill?

Other people; location and quality of cars doesn't matter. He took pics of my two sheds on axle stands on my drive way. Very council!!!

I have a mate that owns a e30 prepped for PBMW cup. He is selling up soon and is rebuilding the front end after an off at Snetterton. He may be interested in letting you take some pics of that if he can use them when selling.

Pics taken on film, so would need to be developed!!! I guess we'll not see them until Lauris has finished his project?

Gareth (March109) reckon it would be worth you catching up with Lauris. His red chromie is an interesting thing!! I'm sure you'd have some morsels to interest him with too!

Does anyone know somebody who may have a tattoo with BMW badge or something other connected with the theme? Would be very useful for the project.

Kos who was a member on here had one I think. He is contactable, but not through the zone. Sadly I don't have contact details for him.

Friday sounds good Lauris, i'll email you tonight.

Looking forward to seeing the results of this. Especially as I've not shot on film in aaaages 8) My car's off the road at the mo, hoping to get it back together on Fri though, not that it'll be driven much until the weather improves!
I'm in west Totton btw (just your side of Southampton) if you're ever over in this direction (& you can see what the motor looks like by clicking on my sig pic!).

TBH the "BMW drivers are ****s" bit always seemed to apply to the more modern cars, not that I ever really gave a ****. As Clarkson rightly says though - Audi drivers are the culprits at the mo. :)

Not sure if posted on here before.. but came across this recently on another forum and found it quite amusing :D
The BMW Drivers Tale

The other day I was cruising along as usual coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars.

First off, I couldn't believe that the volume of traffic didn’t slow down for me at all as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway! (The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.)

Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane. (Why do underlings use this lane? Surely everyone knows it is for BMW drivers only?)

Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving so slowly - at a ridiculous 70 mph!

Naturally, I got to within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn't be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.

Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me! He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.

Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew - that my car goes fast!

Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my driver's licence to a Police Station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They're not free points either - they're £20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the Police Station said that because I drive a BMW, it won't be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won't even need a driving licence, so they will take it off me!

See, now that’s the sort of respect you get when you buy and drive a BMW!

Regards,

Ian

I be happy to drive my Alpina down to bornmouth as I normally go down there to meet another zoner who has been helping me with parts and genrally teaching me more about wokring on the cars. Might be an angel to see how there is a proper comunity and knowledge being passed on. Also I got soooo much stuff that came with my car it may show the side of what collectores will look for when buying one of the rarer E30's.

I appreciate that but would be a lot more interesting to capture the essence of your 'natural inhabitation'. Where about you are from?

I don't have much planned for Friday, just a bit of decorating so could probably spare a few hours then...
