Was looking through all my fullbmwsh on my 1984 320i and found the original purchasing sheet...£11,350 it cost back then with only a few sh*t extras??? was wondering if anyone who had a more desirable 325 or m3 or anyything else? maybe had the same invoice and how much it was worth new....... looking at it i think it was overpriced considering the price of a house in them days etc so my dad tells me!!! for £11000 you could get a new car today maybe not a bmw but still a new car in todays money?? :D

sorry for going a bit off topic, but in 1994 a rover metro gti cost around £12k on the road, i've got a pricelist somewhere.

it's when you see figures like that you realise just how much in real terms car prices have dropped!

weren't early m3s in the mid 20ks?
cheers,

harry

its true always wanted a e30, that's why i got one, but was also looking to buy a newer car as well, and always moaned about new car prices (wanted to keep e30 as baby  )? But since i seen the price of a car 23/24 years ago it dont seem that bad!!! that goes for all cars not just e30's or any other BMW or mercedes, Audi??

If a 1984 320i cost that much from new, not the most desirable model!!! it scares me to think that a later m3 cost near quadruple that???????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could swear I saw the receipt for Brown while looking through his paperwork years ago.

It was a 1985 325i with OBC and Check Control (not sure if they were both options).

If memory serves, it cost it's owner a whopping £14k back then!
325i Twin Turbo (until 10am 01/12/07 :( )

Im a little concerned as my 320i doesnt even have the power steering or electric front windows which is apparently common to all models!!!??? Maybe the person who bought mine wanted to keep fit and do everything the hard way?!

I think the spec list is from 1990 so if your car is before it may have had manual windows/mirrors and power steering etc especially if a pre-facelift

Mine is a 1987 but one of the first facelift versions so that must explain it! Mind you though not that the lack of extras make much odds to me as it only has a dash, 2 buckets, harnesses and a cage left in it! If anything lack of goodies has done me a favour in the weight/complexity/potential problems department!!!

P.S. I hope Mr motivator hasnt had his sweaty, gay backside in my car! (He was gay wasnt he?)
