Re: Stereo wiring question

As daboy says - it's likely it was at some point connected to an amp - sounds like the sort of plug they used to connect h/u speaker outputs to amps, when the oem, or a cheap h/u, didn't have proper phono/rca outputs!!! If it's been added to the original speaker wires and you want to keep them, I wo...

Thanks Brian. Def not insistent on OEM/BMW genuine parts, (the car isn't standard in any way!!!), but would like whatever the best quality is!!! I'll be using the insurance for a replacement screen on the missus focus soon, but as mine is in a bodyshop, with no screen in there, I wonder if they'll a...

I had mine powder coated before christmas - about £60/70 iirc!!!

Was going to coat the inside as well (googled rustys tank sealer!!!) to try and make it last as long as possible, but not got round to it yet and will prob just go on the car as it is!!!

New Windscreen??? Which one??? Recommendations???

Just got some prices from cotswolds on here, for new OEM screens... Three options shown to me on realoem are: Clear, Green, or Green with green shade band!!! First of all, what would've been standard on a 1990 325i touring??? Is there any of the online spec checkers I could put my vin no in and it w...

For £50k I would suggesting moving somewhere that has a garage - (assuming your status allows!!!) I've currently got a lock-up in SE25, costs about £230 per quarter, but it's mostly full of parts - haven't had a car in there for years!!! No power or water!!! I've been looking around East Grinstead r...

If you want it and can afford it, buy it - simple!!! I actually like these E61's - though haven't owned one yet!!! I've been looking at the 545, for the lower tax bracket and bargain(ish) prices - but I know they have their issues too!!! Scariest thought for me with the M5 would be that I've heard t...

Good point Kos - far too obvious for me!!! Just assumed they would spray/lacquer/bake/whatever then give it a wipe down and wheel it out, leaving it up to me to polish, etc!!! Really? Bugger!!!

Not gonna have time/facility to do that very often & don't trust the 'hand car wash' places near me!!!

Does it really need to be left that long???

Then what after that - will it ideally want to be mop'd before waxing, etc???

Re: Compression leaking into the coolant. Cracked head? Gask

Could just be a knackered water pump??? I had a lot of weird games with an old 325 that turned out the pump was only really circulating the coolant properly when giving it some revs!!! Only got hot at standstill and only got warm air from the vents when revving!!! Somehow got away with just replacin...

Re: How to treat/clean new paint...

Read on another forum to leave the paint for 10 to 12 weeks before sealing/waxing!?!?!

Any other advice???

And I'm assuming I've just gotta keep jetwashing it during that time to try and keep it slightly clean???

Since the touring is in the bodyshop having a new door fitted and that side sprayed, I'm taking the opportunity to have a few, (most), other bits painted too. Touring rear doors/hinges/fitment/advice...

Ok, so yesterday, whilst trying to take some items out of the back of my touring, a lovely old lady managed to hit my open rear door with the front of her astra, (luckily, just brushing me with her wing mirror - no injury thank god!!!).
