Re:

After years of loving ownership I have decided to sell my 325i Sport. I have written an advert in the for sale section, and will be uploading lots of detailed pictures tomorrow afternoon. I have done a lot to the car since last updating this thread, and it has many new parts.

Thanks guys,

Paul

Re: heated seat elements

Yes they do, they are very differnt shapes.

Sports seats with vertical stitching and comfort seats share the same elements though, despite what people say.

Re: bmwe30mtech

I haven't checked this in a while, thanks very much for all the positive comments gents, it's really appreciated. It's a nice feeling to pull a small handfull of uttterly scrap E30s off the road/away from the crusher and pass the good bits on. I have never and refuse to ever break up or remove nice ...

It's about time a feedback thread was started for Tony. I have bought and sold with Tony over the last 5 or 6 years and he is absolutely spot on each time.

Good to see you again today mate, give me a shout when it comes to M52 time!

Re: 320i breather pipe problem

Spring is on the right end!

I just went out and looked at the pipe closely and you can just make out that the end has sheered off it, but cleanly so it wasn't obvious.

....and of course the end has fallen inside the sump, so there goes my weekend

Thanks for the replies anyway

Re: 320i breather pipe problem

I know it does Barry, but it filled the gap when I took the thing apart, and now it doesn't! The only thing I have changed is the head, and so it doesn't make sense. I have been working on M20s for years now and never come across this issue.

Thanks

320i breather pipe problem

Hi all, I have just done the headgasket on my 1988 (facelift) 320i touring, because the oil and water were mixing badly, and the oil was entering the cooling system. I suspected the head may be cracked as well, so I swapped it for another 320i head I had spare and knew was a good one. However, probl...

Re: Classic rusting away in a barn

Yes it's certainly scrap, I was just joking about the project idea. Clearly not been inside most of its life, and will fall apart if it is moved about much.

The interior was actually quite nice though, surprisingly.

Re: Classic rusting away in a barn

Certainly a shame.

As I opened the door the cobwebs broke. I doubt anybody had looked at the car in many years. The door hinges were rusted shut, making it hard to pull open.

I wish I could say that was the only one there as well

Classic rusting away in a barn

I took these pictures today, check out the complete lack of a floor, and the far side front suspension mount. You can do it a lot cheaper, depends how far you want to go. Typically: Used kit - £200 New radiator - £150 New condensor - £100 New fittings - £50 R134a conversion kit - £150 Gas - £50 = £700 Air-con front valance + spraying £Depends Add on any pipes which need replacing, just depends on the condit...

Re: Retrofitting Air Condition?

The few retro-fits I have done for myself and friends have cost £750-£1000 in parts to do correctly and last for years. Remember your car is a pre-facelift, and facelift fuse box wiring is not directly compatible, also the main plug on the heater box loom will be different (unless you removed it fro...

As Imy says, but you will find these are now made from a different material Steve - not as nice as the original. Re: E30 in West Wickham Kent!!

I know the seller, he is a member on here and has had quite a lot of E30's. I have looked over this car carefully myself, and it is a genuinely very rust free car, which is getting very unusual for a two door. The engine runs very smoothly, and I'm sure the mileae is genuine. However as the advert s...

Re: sport map light mirror

The advert is simply misleading, as the seller knows. He has put that in the title so people looking for a real sport mirror will see his, and buy it - which they wont. There is nothing 'sport' about that mirror. It is like listing it as a '316i' mirror because it came from a 316i - it's just a norm...

I am not certain, as I have not run R12 with an R134a drier with one pressure switch connection. If you have problems, you can still buy driers with two connections: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC-A-C-AIR-CON-RECEIVER-DRIER-BMW-E30-2-CONNECTORS-/330638503953?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=i...

Vasko, all modern driers use one pressure switch, and yes the old one uses two. When you replace the drier it will come with a new pressure switch, with a plug to match one of the ones your car wires have. The other plug (from the other pressure switch, which you no longer have) can be cut off, and ...
