13 Button OBC gong making constant BEEP in drivers footwell

first of all its a 1989 325i Tourer The car had been standing for 5 years and now have decided to put it back on the road. I Checked the oil, flushed the water, and got rid of any airlocks and started the car with no problems. Took it for a little drive and everything was good. So, I parked the car ...

Re: e30 not starting

Hello Bob, The problem that you described happened to three of my e30's. I believe that this is a common problem with the six pots and going by your symptoms I believe there is a problem with your front crank sensor, usually the plastic retainer that holds the wires that come from the sensor pass ac...

Re: Problem with my 328i cab ,HELP

If there is an air leak on the inlet side it could cause the engine to stall when turning the wheels on full lock whilst the car isn't moving as the engine is on idle. The most likely cause would be the oil breather has failed (it's just under the inlet manifold near the back) it can be changed with...

Re: 325 Running issue

Mate, Check the wires that connect to the crank sensor, they run close to the front pulleys and the retainer normally falls off causing the wires to rub on the pulley until it cuts into it and shorts out the signal. If this is the case just tape up the two wires and cable tie the wire preventing it ...

Re: e36 keeps cutting out..

Hello, i had the same problem on my 328i, i first changed the airflow meter and the car drove better for the first week (during the period that the ecu is learning the settings) then the problem came back. i then changed the idle control valve but the problem was still there. the most common problem...

Re: Engine cutout whilst driving??

hello, i had the same problem on my e30. i checked everything under the bonnet, eventually i found the fault :-) it was the wire from the front crank sensor, the wire goes across the front of the engine ( just behind one of the pulleys ) what happened was the plastic retainer had fallen off and the ...

Re: My E30 is cutting out

hello, my car had the same problem, i changed everything, even the afm. but the problem persisted. the fault was intermittent but got worse and worse. in the end i found the cause. it was the crank sensor at the bottom of the engine (front of engine), i was taking it out to clean it when i noticed t...

Re: just a quickie to all who own tourers!

Hello,

Usually owners lift up the seat base from where it meets the back (the lever is under the base and ia relaesed when the base is lifted), then just pull the seat back down.

i hope this helps

Re: Electric to manual windows...

hello, its pretty straight forward, just get hold of some manual mechs (the early E30's had different mechs and fittings to the facelift models). then just unplug the leccy motor and remove, the manual mech fits in the same way. you might need to get hold of some doorcards or just make a winder hole...
