it will only gain you more power if the original is a "restriction" on the engines air supply at the higher end of the rpms, the restriction might be the throttle butterfly size before its the air flow meter, you would have to measure as i dont know if thats a "restriction" on the E30 engines and ev...

ive always jet washed my engines, get a plastic carrier bag and cover the dizzy cap and coil, then go mental with the jet washer, never had a problem, as someone said just use a bit of common sense and dont directly point it at things like the afm or tps and everything will be fine

it was the early vaux built heads had porousity issues, so the oil leaked into the coolant making a curry mix in the expansion tank, coscast heads( the ones cosworth did for vaux were free of this issue)
