They do...an M50 2.5 is approx 25% more efficient than an M20 2.5... But to get 28mpg from an E34 iX you must drive like Miss Daisys' chauffeur! the proper bolt on way is to swap complete E30 M3 gear over, it isn't cheap but this is the proper way of doing it. The other way is to use the trailing arms from an E36 318ti compact that has the disc rear brakes and then E36 M3 EVO front arms/hubs/legs etc I have the rear trailing arms from a 2.8...

Don't forget to have the cylinders honed too :D and don't forget to stick to your plan! There are loads of "while I'm doing this I might as well"... (performance camshafts, BBTB, exhaust headers, head work, sump baffle, millers mass air meter instead of afm, painting the block / inlet manifold etc ...

Hey, you could use ebays find a wheel tool - you enter the rim width, offset and number of studs and away you go... you may find wheels for a front wheel drive jap car may fit...

I had the same problem - working only on speed 4. Mine was cured by taking out & cleaning the little coil that resides on the fan behind fan cover, behind the firewall (accessed from the engine bay). Thanks for the replies guys - Motormec have quoted £92.27 for a 323i camshaft made by Febi Bilstein. After assaulting the Febi website, Febi say a 323i e30 1985 cam is 252 degrees! if you're looking for a 325iX, i would VERY HIGHLY avoid autotragics. they are slow and really takes the fun away from driving an E30 or a BMW for that matter. the other issue with the iX auto's is how the auto tranny fluids seep into the transfer-case causing issues. i have an 88 325iX and it's on...
