Re: my 325ic
Hello mate, drive past your collection of cars all the time!! I surf down at Challaborough on a regular basis and drive a white 325i touring with m-tech 2 kit. Was wondering if that white number was a genuine M5 or an M535i for a while. Looks in good nick. Will have to stop and check it out properly...

I returned to an e30 325 touring at the beginning of the year after a spell with an e36 328 touring and honestly, the 328 was a great car but it drinks way more fuel around town, parts are more expensive and to keep up that all important service history with stamps from a reputed specialist cost me ...

Clicking noise from back end
Hi all, just had a strange noise start from the back of my touring. It seems to start at slow speed, usually just in to 2nd, where it gets more intense and then disappears once moving quicker in third. Its a sort of loud clicking noise that increases in speed and volume as accelerating but goes when...

If you want foam and resin there's a couple of routes to take. Either Polyurethane foam with polyester resin or high density expanded polystyrene with epoxy resin. Epoxy is way way stronger and lighter than polyester and is usually used for laminating carbon/kevlar also. You should be able to get th...

M20 Engine - Which parts to replace?
Ok, I am the first to admit i'm not a mechanic in any way shape or form so bare with me on this one!! Where is the best place to start in getting my engine back to a smooth quiet unit? Re-build? New complete head? Cam, rockers, gaskets etc. or just keep an eye out for a known good low mileage comple...

They never actually made an e36 325 touring, the e30 touring was still being produced when the e36 saloon and coupe was launched. E36 tourings came along in 1995. 320, 323 and 328 (if you want a 6 pot). My last car was an e36 328 touring and it was brilliant but not cheap to maintain that vital serv...

Cheers for that oze30, wasn't sure if there were any hidden bolts tied in with the hinge points. It's from a touring, same colour as was in mine but has rear headrests and is in much better condition! Sport front seats are a HUGE improvement over the comforts, just wanna get the backs and door cards...

Touring rear seats
Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear seats from a touring? Had a nice mint sport interior delivered yesterday (bloody couriers didn't show up until 7.30pm after taking the afternoon off work grrrrr) The bolsters are straight forward enough but not sure how to tackle the folding mechanisms of th...

Nikasil has been about from the first 328's to end of '97. Some were fine as Jhonno pointed out it was sulphur content that caused the problem. I'd still be careful picking up a 2nd hand lump. Most were replaced under warranty but if there were no signs of it a lot weren't. BMW didn't officially rec...

If you go M52 just make sure its post '97 (they changed the liners) or already had the short engine changed. There is a way of telling if its nikasil or not visually:

Owned an M52 328 for the last few years and is an excellent engine apart from the flat spot at about 2500-3000rpm and nikasil! Probably better off with M50. Not as strangled and pretty much the same power output. If doing M52 defo get the M50 manifold in there and remap to get rid of flatspot! Hmmmm...

Saggy headlining
Hi,
Did a search but couldn't find anything. Anyone got any cures for the above?? Front end fine but over the boot the headlining has started to come away a bit. Is there any way of re-sticking it? All suggestions welcomed!
