the underneath of my rocker looks the same as the one on the right in the picture. I guess the oil would drain away with time, but I have pools on the exhaust side.
Maybe I'm just paranoid. There's always been something wrong with the car since I got her, so I'm assuming this is the next thing

I fitted a ITG filter about 3 weeks ago and the bottom of it is sodden. When I put a BBTB on the pipe from there to the afm was coated, a couple of sheets of kitchen towel worth.

So there's no such thing as too much oil in there? Why would I be getting so much oil through the inlet system?

I don't know, it seems a hell of a lot. I've been getting lots of oil in my air filter, tb and afm. I thought the spray bar was the only method of lubricating the rockers?

Oil in rocker box

Bit of an ongoing problem this one. Took the rocker cover off today, run engine and ther is shed loads of oil coming in from somewhere. The spray bar wasn't really working so took off, cleaned and refitted. Still the same problem. I would say within seconds of starting the engine there is at least a...

It could just be condensation. Is the car using a lot of coolant? Have you got "mayo" on your dipstick or oil filler cap? It is a pretty big job and you also need to replace head bolts, timing belt, tensioner, etc, etc.... A garage would charge about £500 I reckon. But you may get a zoner who live'...

There are 2 type's of oil cooler, early and late. If originally a 318 would it have the fixing's in the chassis to take the brackets?
Saying that when I bought mine the oil cooler was fixed with cable ties, so I'm sur there is a way.

I must admit I can't see a great deal of weight saving there. I did see some carbon fibre, (or was it fibreglass) bonnet's on ebay a while back, about £75 I think, much better if you're racing.

Oil Cooler fixing

Finally got round to fixing my new oil cooler brackets today. Cut the cable ties holding the cooler in place  and found it incredibly tight to get between the brackets and the front valance, and when in place the cooler is covered by the front valance except for about 1/2", is that right? Then ...

Hi widge. Oil was changed about a month ago or so, just under the limit and have been topping up since. It's suprising just how much oil is getting through. Wibbly Wobbly

Recently had some new 17 rims fitted with 205/40's done by the retailer. Steering is now pretty shakey at all speed's. Took the back and they re-balanced but the problem is still there. Had 16's before with 205/45's and they used to have a little wobbly from 50-60 but otherwise ok. Can anyone shed a...

Brand new breather pipe. What if camshaft seals are shot. If you take the oil cap off and look inside where the cam locator/guide is the oil is comming up from there.
If someone can confirm that any oil in there should only be from the spray bar that would be more than helpful.

I've got same problem with mine, just haven't got round to it. If you pull the wires you should in feel 1 or both "stretch". Try and renew as much as possible.
Remember not to touch the legs of the chip either as this can shag it.

It was all twisty back lanes so I would say 2nd and 3rd gear 5-6k revs most of the time. The new chip does rev to 7k so we tried that a couple of times.
