I found an m42b18 from a 120k Miles e36 at 550€. Is It worth It? I read that out of an e30 Is more plug and play but out of e36 might give some head aches. What should I be aware of?

Just after I got the car, at the first heavy rain had the trunk flooded. Found out a gasket was missing. They were 30€ on eBay but needed a fast solution.
Bought a D-shaped neoprene gasket for a couple €. No more leaks. Not a drop of water.
