Re: Warm Starting Problems ?

I'll check and clean the injectors when my mechanic friend comes over and i'll also try the gentle but quick key turn.

Re: Warm Starting Problems ?

It has it's MOT last week and there are no issues with the fuel or fuel lines, I also had a good look underneath and they are fine. Injectors? I only purchased the car in October and I haven't touched them and there's nothing in the history folder? If it was injectors wouldn't they also effect it wh...

Warm Starting Problems ?

Hi, I've a 1987 325i vert manual which doesn't like to start when it's warm/hot? When it's cold it fires up on the button with no hesitation and like a dream. But once it's up to running temperature and driving around it seems to crank over for a while before she fires up? Any idea on what I need to...

Re: Ace Cafe Zone Meet 29th June

Kos had this on the E30 Zone Facebook page and was requesting full names and photos of the car to gain a space.

I've managed to get mine added and Kos has confirmed, i'll be attending providing the heavy rain holds off.

Gear Stick Knob

Hi,

Simple question, does this gear stick knob unscrew or pull off?

I just need to change the leather gater.

Blower Fan / Switch

Hi, my fan switch only works on setting 4 now in my 1987 325i vert?

Is the culprit a faulty 'Heater Blower Fan Resistor' from what I've looked up or could it be something else?

If it is the Fan Resistor is it a difficult part to get at and replace?

Thanks

Re: Horn Not Working - Now What?

The column isn't earthed by any wires. It's earthed through the ball bearing right at the base of the column. The bearing is actually in the passenger compartment, but the tube is hollow at the bottom end, and accessible from the engine compartment. This is the temporary fix my electrician put in p...

Re: Horn Not Working - Now What?

Sorry Brian I'm going to sound right thick, but are we talking about the same part? Its at the base of the column in the engine bay down by the manifolds is where the column has a mushroom shaped joint and it's a wire my guys has by-passed either side of it to make an earth. I'll take some photos wh...

Thanks Ben and Brian your experience is valued to a total E30 novice like me and I do appreciate it.

Do you have a photo, part number etc of the exact part I need to replace so that I can eliminate the temporary fix?

Re: Manifold Exhaust Leak - How Difficult

After being on ramp and from looking underneath I'm missing a stud which means it could be missing or more than likely broken off into the head.

So guessing this is a big job now and if it's a broken stud am I looking at an engine out to remove it?

Re: Horn Not Working - Now What?

So as part of the logical testing I took the car to an auto electrician was has the experience and tools that I don't and here are the results. Firstly the K2 relay is working fine, he bridged the relay with a wire and the horn worked. He then tested the newly installed slip ring and when earthed th...

Hi, many thanks for the updates. It's going on the ramps on Saturday so i'll have a good look and check the studs. Manifold Exhaust Leak - How Difficult

Hi,

Saturday my exhaust started blowing after a long drive and I'm 99% sure its coming from the manifold gasket?

How big a job is it to replace the manifold gasket/s on a 1987 (31.12.87) 325i convertible?

Is it the 2 x heat protector gaskets I need?

Thanks
