Re: Fueling Problem on 320i L-Jetronic
The car was running fine before I changed the pump and eliminated the fuel pressure regulator. How long before changing the pump, weeks/months/years? Did you test the fuel pressure while cranking the engine over or shorting the pump wiring? While cranking the engine gives a better idea of if it con...

I find cars that have been for extensive panel replacements are usually the worst for leaks, most bodyshops are only interested in what they look like rather than how they function

Re: M52 head? Coolant issues.
The fan switch should be in the side of the rad, there is a provision for this on the right hand side tank about 1/4 of the way down. If you have an original 90+ thermostat then the gauge will show above 1/2 way at running temp and it will take much longer to flow coolant to the radiator which is ho...

Re: Breaking in a newly rebuilt M20 engine
Less lubrication is needed because you want the rings to wear into the bores, mineral oil 100% works best, I usually go for 20w50 type grades, drive the car up to around 80/90mph then shut the throttle and allow the momentum of the car to slow the engine down, this creates vacuum in the cylinders pu...

Re: E39 m52 gearbox
The clutch you use must match the flywheel, the 2.8 stuff is always 240mm so its a good option, if its an E46 era box it 'should' fit over a 2.8 fly/clutch but people have run into problems with bigger engine flywheels in smaller engined boxes

Re: Bmw e39 auto swap to e30
Your main issue is the physical size of the box, you will need to cut/modify the tunnel to accept it Without the correct signal from the ABS unit (wheel speed) the gearbox will be stuck in 3rd gear, limp mode. Im sure there will be some sort of emulator you can buy that replictes this signal, but re...

Thats not part of the injector loom, most likely signal sharing to the autobox ECU via an add on loom which would explain why its plugged into the engine temp sensor, most likely a manually switchable box?
