@S38B38: thanks for the photos! Nice conversion, quite similar to others I saw on the net. @tomson: because of my engine position, I have enough space in front of the engine, so that I can use normal radiator position. I used E30 324td one, because it is as large as it can fit in E30 without modific...

Re: How many have done a S38 swap
Mine is not finished yet, so I cant say how it works, but I can tell what I have done so far. I used B36 and customized the firewall, so that the engine comes 15cm further to the back than original M20. With that I shifted some of the weight to the back and gained some space in the front, so that I ...

M3 common vs. EVO3 front side panel difference
What is the difference between the commom front side panel that all E30 M3s use and EVO3 version. I know there are two versions available for both types, if the car has side turn indicator, so there must be something else.
Thank you for your help!

Sadly I dont have any pics of the engine in the car, as my camera was broken then. At the moment the engine is taken apart for partial rebuild, and there's also not much attached to the car, so I cant take some great pictures, but there are some photos of the modified oil pan, firewall and roll cage...

@Karan: This is realy a great project, I am doing something similar myself and have one question for you. Which servo pump did use for the e36 steering rack? Stock M5 pump has two high pressure outputs, so I don't know if it's usable, would it work if you block one output? How did you sort this out?...

Re: M30B35 and S38B36 crankshaft difference
The stroke is 86mm.
The timing chain sprocket could be different, but it is not a part of the shaft, but can be changed.

M30B35 and S38B36 crankshaft difference
I wonder what is the difference between M30B35 and S38B36 crankshaft. Both have same main bearings, conrod bearings are different but the same dimension, both motors have the same stroke.
What are then the differences and are they exchangable?
Thanks for the info!
