Thanks Brian for your quick response, I'm not very "engine" literate, but I can see why it could get frustrating for you!!! I love the e30 very much, I have had 2, but cant wait to see he back of this pile of crap, can see myself paying to have it towed away at this rate

Hi
The lamp lights wheather the diagnostic pins are linked or not, i have connected the lamp to the nut on the starter motor that has the thick red wire going to it, is this correct?

Thanks Brian, this dosnt seem to work, never mind, joined the two together, but still no turnover. Thanks again for your help, sounds like ANOTHER trip to the garage, am trying to sell the thing, guess it dosnt want to go!!!

Engine won't turn over

Hi If any one can point me towards a thread, or give me a clue, 1987 325i Cab, been sat for a couple of months (this is not unusual) usually fires up on turn of key, battery fully charged, but nothing turning over, can hear fuel pump, and a soft click from engine bay, but no turn over at all, should...

Hi I have a 1987 (chrome bumper) cabrio. It origionally had the factory fitted alarm system, with the key thingy in the drivers door. Hi Brian

Have found out that the steering column switch is faulty, all other circuits check out ok.

Thank you very much for all your help, will now have to get another switch before the MOT tomorrow AAAHHHGGGG!!!!!!

hi again

Have ch ecked the brown/black wire from the pump to the contact on the column lever in the car and the wire is intact coz the bulb lit up. Does this sound like there is aproblem with the column switch?

latest, power is getting to terminals, when tested with a test light, but there does not seem to be enough power to make it work???? If the motor is earthed it goes continually, the wipers seem to do their sweep of the screen when this is done

HELP no power to washer motor MOT tomorrow!!!!

Can anyone help, windscreen washer motor just packed up, motor works if connected directly to 12v, but not when wired in to car, taken switch off steering column, but cant see any loose wires, wipers work fine HELP
