Hi Iain I had the same problem with a 325i a few years ago, I tracked it down to the round multi-connector to the left of the engine, down below the inlet manifold. I ended up sliping clutch to get home as car was revving up to 2K then down to 800 RPM. Sounded like a boy racer at traffic lights. Fix...

This "relay" is the bulb check module for the "check" panel up by the rear view mirror. As you say, you already have one - you don't need another. You need to connect your towbar wiring in front of this module, or the trailer lamps will trigger the bulb failure warning. White, trailer = earth = BMW...

Do not use Vaseline on rubber as it is petroleum based and will rot. KY gel is not petroleum based, (same applies to condoms) I found oil on worm gear worked great. Are we still talking about my windows, or have we moved onto my missus???? winkeye Either/or Vaseline rots rubber whichever you use it...

Thanks anyway, will a LSD from a 318i be strong enough or not?

Does anyone out there know if a LSD from a 535 will fit into a 325 axle or what other BM's LSD will fit into my 325.
