Re: Stalling Feeling
Ok so I fixed it. I changed the blue temp sensor as you suggested, but it was still the same. I changed the injectors and it was still the same. I checked through wiki, and it turned out to be either the TPS or the ICV, both were full of shit. I cleaned them both at the same time so not too sure whi...

Re: Stalling Feeling
So I couldn't figure it out, and I changed a HT lead that was broken, and now it's the opposite? Fantastic Idle (like 1200) and performance at cold, and shitty idle (like 400) when hot and no power at all.

Re: Stalling Feeling
So I did the test, with the multimeter at the ECU, it says I should be seeing between 3500 and 4000 ohms but I'm only getting between 66 and 100 o.0. Should I be concerned about that? I may well be doing it wrong but I don't see another way to do it. Cheers.

Stalling Feeling
So it's like this, the last week or so, while cold a lot and sometimes when normal temp, when I accelerate, it feels like the car is going to stall every few seconds, like it feels like I will stall, then a surge of power, then another stall feeling, then surge, stall feeling, surge etc for about 20...

I got a threaded rod but it just messed the thread up and bent the bar lol. I really didn't want to have to take the whole beam off but by the looks of it I really don't have a choice.

Re: Sub Frame Bushes.
Yeah the blade does go through the hole but there is too much other stuff in the way for the saw frame to go there, petrol tank etc. I tried to batter it but can't get enough force on it I guess with the hammer so close to the ground. the size of the sleeve is about 24mm I guess, but it's hard to ge...

Sub Frame Bushes.
Ok so, I need to change my subframe bushes, the centre aluminium part is detatched completely from the outer metal sleeve. I followed the Wiki, which is amazing may I add, but I cannot for the life of me get the metal sleeve out. I tried cutting it out with a hacksaw but it's just too small for the ...

I emailed Vosa about the exhaust noise and the steering lock, they said the same as you Brian about the steering lock, but they told me to go to the Department for Transport about the exhaust, I have emailed them too but yet to get a reply. I'm sure this type of post has been done before but does anyone know roughly how many E30s are still on the road in the UK or at least know a website where I could go and find out?
Just out of interest.

Re: MoT difficulties?
I got refused an MoT for having a Scorpion exhaust... "Exhaust noise is clearly in excess of that emitted by a similar vehicle fitted with a standard silencer in average condition"
F1 Autocentres, they also failed me for my steering lock not working.

What's this dashboard light?
Hey guys. So I'm check-listing my car getting it ready for its next MoT, and I got to the dash lights. I saw that one was not working, so I pulled it all out and the bulb is missing, that's not a problem in itself as I have a couple spare, but I got thinking, and I don't actually know what this ligh...

Sorry to be a pain about this, but I just read that this rule only applies to passenger cars post 2001. Are you absolutely 100% sure that it applies to all cars?

About the new MoT rules
So I just read some of the new MoT rules, and I have to say I'm a little worried. The parts in particular that I'm concerned about, are the steering lock, and the Catalytic converter, I asked about the Cat a little while back and some of the guys here mentioned that I needn't worry about it because ...

A little help.
So, my car (1990 318i touring) doesn't have a Cat fitted, nor does it have a middle box, will I need either for the car to get through its MoT? And also, if I put a middle box on will it make the car quieter? And if that's the case, does it have to be E30 specific or can I scavenge one from a younge...
