Re: ZF5 box mounts and guibo.
what i was told by the guy i bought the car from a few years ago was the front half of an e36 prop and the rear half of an e30 prop. its probably time to change the centre bearing. the first time i had a vibration it had snapped off the cross member that holds in to the chassis. i just welded it int...

Re: ZF5 box mounts and guibo.
They were euro car part ones. Not exactly sure where they source them from. But I fit them myself. Arrows pointing the correct way and the bolts torqued to the correct spec in the Haynes manual. Dan, that's what I was thinking. Must be out of line, and if the gearbox mounts are gubbed then it will b...

Re: ZF5 box mounts and guibo.
its the front half of an E36 328 prop and its got the larger 96mm coupling as per the 328. I'm thinking if the mounts are away on the gearbox then when under load it could be moving around a lot more than it should be and putting extra strain on the coupling. i do like a good clutch kick to be hones...

ZF5 box mounts and guibo.
I've been having a few issues recently. I've wrecked 3 rubber prop-shaft coupling in the last year. (all fitted correctly and bolts torqued to spec) I'm putting it down to the gearbox mounts, ridiculous clutch kicks and some all round abusive driving. wanting to upgrade the gearbox mounts to Polyure...

e30/36 Centre Console
has anyone fitted a e36 centre console for the armrest and cup holder capabilities?
i've seen it done in murica, but i think the the e36 UK the handbrake is on the wrong side so it would mean getting a US e36 centre console.
anyone have any insight into this?

M52 - M50 manifold air temp sensor.
Has anyone had to change the air temp sensor in there m50 manifold to suit there m52 ecu? My ecu was reading 190 degrees air intake temp. Assuming a faulty switch I ordered a new one for a M52 although they are completly different. M52 seems to be a push fit sensor with some kind of element and the ...

Re: M52 temp sensor ans MAF
it wasnt even listed as a fault code. the guy had to go into the program and read the data the sensors were producing and conclude that they weren't reading accurate. they still show as working there just way out of the normal operating parameters. swapping an ecu out seems to be a far more time con...

M52 temp sensor ans MAF
Just back from the rolling road for the 3rd time in 2 weeks trying to figure out this running issue. the car has been running super super lean, like off the charts fresh air out the exhaust. lol the diagnostics unit is showing that the MAF is totally gubbed and the air is 100 degrees C coming in the...

Re: Fuel pressure/pump/regulator
Now that's a reply! Lol. Wasn't sure if I needed a aftermarket fpr, I was just going to address it since I was fiddling with the fuel system. At least it would have been done. lol. Ya running the standard 328 ecu. I had it on the diagnostics and it's thrown the engine speed crank position sensor. So...

I've got the M52 (220bhp) in my 1990 316. Just a few questions about fueling. But to fill you in first, I'm just back from the rolling road and my AFR is 16:1 and running as hot a hit thing! The tuner says it's being starved of fuel. Luckily I had planned a turbo conversion so I have most of the fue...

Re: Lights wont go off.
It's just the halo rings that flicker. Nothing to do with the dipped beam. As for the wiring in the halos, there isn't much too it. They have their own separate relay and power source. They are only triggered by the original running light plug. They don't draw their power from the the original loom....

Re: electric fan controller
Positioned in the top hose, the fan will be on more than needed. Positioned in the bottom hose, the fan won't come on quickly enough. Correct position is about one third of the way down the radiator, so that it can detect when the radiator starts failing to reduce the coolant's temperature, where i...

i dont mind it that much. i'd just tuck all the excess wiring inside the light cover.
what about my original question, any idea on the diameter i'd need? i've read 32, 34 and 38 on different forums, just no idea what to get. and i'm gussing the top hose is the one i'd want to fit it to??
