Re: Projector beam patterns - pics please

The car came with crystal two lamp grill, which is really poor ok dipped and full. As yet I've not wired in the full beam spots though but I dont need to use them (only ever evening town driving for the next few weeks) and am waiting on some parts. An issue I have with changing to clear glass like T...

Re: Projector beam patterns - pics please

Pfffttt who cares about MOTs. :p It's more that I'm trying to improve the light output from the car really as standard lights were awful, but I'd also like to have the output correct for the type of lights. The golf lens is distorting the pattern, I bet there will be glare when driving towards it at...

Re: Projector beam patterns - pics please

Cheers DanThe. I can't recall what my E30's lights were like and they were only normal not HIDs. I'm asking for photos as I've been doing a mod on my golf using a spare set of E30 projectors and I'm trying to work out if they are too low or if the glass pattern is changing the light output. http://i...

Projector beam patterns - pics please

Random I know, but could people post up some photos of the beam pattern for your E30's projector head lights. Ideally a couple of car lengths from and onto a wall.

Cheers.

Re: Mods, photography thread ?

Yeah, I bought the 35mm as a Sigma 30mm (f.14) or 50mm was something like over 3x the cost. At £140 for the 35mm it is brilliant value. You get so much clarity with a prime it really is a worthwhile change and as you say, makes you compose shots properly rather than just 'I'm too close, zoom out' or...

Re: Mods, photography thread ?

I'd go prime too Sanchez. I love using my 35mm Nikon prime, such nice shots straight from the camera even before lightroom. F1.8 is awesome, the colours and depth of field available over the 18-55 are just so much better. Plus it has a proper focus ring not that stupid end of lens one so you can act...

I went to this last year (as a non club person, cheaper if you arrange as the zone for a stand) and it was great fun. Loads of proper old cars, minimal BMWs mind.

My 'New' car

I'm still around and still driving German, just the driven wheels also steer now. I actually much prefer it to the E30 really (stone him etc.). As pac1982 has said, it sounds like you have something seized or failed. Have you strips the doors down and removed the actuators and tried the locks again? Something is obviously stopping it from working and if the ECU is fine then I'd look at the next electrical thing as well as the mechanical sid...

Is CL standard on the e30? Either mine hasnt got it or it's just broken. Central locking would be cool It was an option iirc from the wiki, although a lot seem to have it. Re: Remote Central Locking?

I have had a look on ebay, lots include indicator flashing, beepers/horns and all sorts of extra rubbish I have no interest in. Which is annoying but I guess you don't have to wire all of the extras in so it isn't too big a deal. One thing I did notice on one is that their install instructions are j...

Re: Strange goings on!

Sounds like you're over fuelling (for the rich small and cutting out), the fuel consumption is correct when stationary.

Over fuelling can be attributed to the blue temp sensor so it's worth testing that before you start fiddling with other bits.
What RPM does the car idle at by the way?

Remote Central Locking?

Right, I'm fed up of my CL, yes CL is great and all but putting the key in all the time? Urgh annoying! So, does anyone have any idea how easy/hard it is to install an RCL unit to the Cabs? Not me but I often get the nod and wave from other E30s and classic BMWs in Bristol. Not actually seen any zoners that I've met at meets when out and about though.

There is no OBD port or OBDII port, there is only a service port.

As Grrrmachine (enough rs?) says, multimeter is the diag tool of choice on these old cars.
