Is my old car still alive? G614 PGJ
Just getting all nostalgic and wondered if my old 318iS is still alive and kicking. I sold it about 3 years ago today to someone from this forum, but I can't remember who. So anyone on here own it? or know what has happened to it. MOT Check says its SORN and has no MOT so I'm guessing it may be park...

Re: azev or alpina?
What car are you looking to put them on? do you have a picture.
I prefer the Azev's, they look great (in 17's - which i'm informed they no longer make) and they are really easy to clean, no multi spoke madness...

The vandals destroyed not only the locks but also the metal that surrounds them, hence why i changed the doors in the first place.Speedtouch wrote:Why not just change the locks over from the new doors onto the originals?
Then you could sell the two straight black doors to pay for the arch repair.

Re:
I'd say there's no point repairing the paint. The rest of the car is looking fading (not rusty, just sun-bleached) so it'll be a proper ballache to blend in. You might as well go for a full respray if you're going to be picky about it. If the car isn't actually rusty, it would be better to sell it ...

Thanks for your inputs guys. will need to think about it. The car is diamond Schwarz in colour and is pretty dull hence why i thought get it painted and mopped, but considering its a 318iS i don't think its worth spending too much on, even though it does have some nice bits on it. Re: How much... Spraying and Body work
What colour is the car? Blending panels is not easy. I would think more like £700 for a quality job. You could try and haggle and do the prep work ie window trim, door locks out etc to cut down on labour. One thing with paint is you get what you pay for. Find someone with a good track record. Am in...

Re: How much... Spraying and Body work
The £60 was the cost of the rear arch, not fitting or spraying. So in short looking at (approx figures) £130 x 2 = £260 - Doors Spraying £60 - Rear Arch Panel £60 - Rear Arch Fitting £130 - Rear Arch Spraying Giving a grand total of circa £510. Think it might be an option. I was hoping for circa £35...

How much... Spraying and Body work
Recently i have changed the two doors on my car due to vandals destoying the locks on my car, however after fitting them it became clear that the colour was not right. As such i'm now considering getting the two doors sprayed and the car mopped. In an effort to keep the costs down i'm only looking t...

The electrics in the passenger door do not work :( 2. The new doors really shows up how dull my paintwork c...

I'm liking that
much better than the 14 inch BBS wheels.
Off the top of my head i think on my 17 inch Azev alloys i'm running 205/45/17, but can check / confirm when i get back home.

Re: Buying a bmw e36 tomorrow
If 1995 it will have a Nikasil block unless it was changed by BMW under warrenty. Mines was a 1996 car and did over 120k and was fine. TBH given it has done 140k i dare say it should be alright. I would just get a compression test done on it for certainty. If that comes through ok i would not worry....

Thtas shockingly low, but as mentioned already insurance companies don't look at sites like this.
