Re: Leaving the EU
I voted to stay. I am looking at it from a purely economical point of view. Markets dislike uncertainty and we are in for a rocky few months. A leave vote will see even more uncertainty, with foreign money flowing out, causing further destabilisation (a self fulfilling prophecy in a way). If we had...

It'll be the same as with any car that quickly becomes a desirable classic, at some point prices will plateau with only really good examples and desirable car continuing to rise at a slower rate. All the tat that is currently over priced will fall to where it should be.

Re: M52 Timing Chain Tensioner
Thanks Guys. Its not what I'd consider your normal oil starvation cold start rattle, i.e a few seconds of loud rattle then it disappears, its actually not too bad and gradually gets quieter as the oil warms up. Could that be the filter housing? What actually fails in the filter housing? Might do bot...

Re: Advice please - which cabriolet model?
I loved my neon blue 318i but to be honest deep down I wished I'd bought a 325 at the time. There are still reasonably priced cars out there, a tidy 325 that had room for improvement went through ACA for 4k on Saturday. Personally I wouldn't bother with a hard top, for not much more money you could ...

M52 Timing Chain Tensioner
Hi All, My M52 has a light timing chain rattle when cold which I think is a worn tensioner. BMW have quoted a reasonable £26.95 for the piston, spring and crush washer, however I've read on the net that people fit whole uprated tensioner assemblies which the BMW parts guy seemed unaware of. Does any...

I guess cool is subjective but I reckon they've begun to appreciate. ACA had a low mileage (43k) '99 individual convertible in their classic auction the other Saturday, I'm told bidding reached £6200 however it didn't reach the reserve of £6500. Strong money that.

I've has a lot of convertible cars and the main point I'd agree with above is chassis flex, all convertibles of the E30 era will have it to one degree or another, mainly noticeable as scuttle shake. As for hard tops and wind deflectors.... ...well if you have a garage or don't live in the bronx don'...

Six and a half grand with no MOT, really?
The ad also contains the perennial classic and my own personal favourite 'low mileage', granted it is the low end of six digits.

I have an e36 with that engine and I used to own a mk2 GT6.
I think the width is going to be your main problem, but height at the front could be too. Might fit in a herald or vitesse though.

Hi all, I've just been drying out my E36 convertible and after refitting the front seats (electric heated) the airbag light has lit up. Re: 3000 Miles Oil Change Myth
Oil change frequency really depends on the car and environment and choosing the right oil in the first place. I can't believe how many people are wasteful and change the oil for the sake of it just to look after their car, on something like an E30 if you do 3000-4000 miles a year then yes change the...
