Re: Fritz M42 Exhaust system.Any Good??
Mine had a fight with the metal stop for an electric gate which peeled the leading edge of the second centre box back by an inch. I'd have expected it to split open like a tin can, but it was fine! Doesn't blow or anything! It'll certainly take some abuse! Mine replaced a powerflow(?) centre section...

Re: Fritz M42 Exhaust system.Any Good??
I've got one on my car. It's not a bad option if you need a new exhaust, but I wouldn't bother if you were just looking for more power.
For what its worth its a stainless system MIG welded with mild wire.

Re: 4 to 5 stud wheel adaptor
What will fit on these guys with no arch mods Use this site to calculate the offset: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator By putting an 18mm spacer on you're effectively reducing the ET of the wheels by 18mm, so a set of ET20 wheels would look / fit like a set of ET2's (So in this...

Re: (Re)Fitting a lambda sensor to an M42
Is this currently connected or disconnected, bet the bodger didn't change this connection when they removed the lambda. May cure your ills without refitting. If I read that correctly my car with no lambda needs the connector connected? If so then the bodger isn't as bad as he first seemed.... excep...

(Re)Fitting a lambda sensor to an M42
I went for the MOT yesterday, and while it passed on emissions (1990 car so less stringent) the lambda reading was around 1.2 at idle! I think my car was fitted with cats and a lambda from the factory, but the previous bodger / owner removed them to fit a SS exhaust, removing the lambda boss at the ...

It will out-handle most road going E30's with that set up, as long as you have renewed all other tired suspension components! I have the same set up, it's great 8) I'll back that up, last week my iS held its own in the wet against stripped out 318Ti Compact Cup cars at Mallory. Even with semi slick...

Re: M42 - Rattling sound over 2 700 RPM
Sounds good! Do you hear a low rattling noise when driving in normal speed, for example about 90 km/h? If I listen carefully I do hear it, but it's almost so low that it's unhearable. Do you also have the problem that the chain rattles a lot when revving the engine to 3 000 RPM? Over and under 3 00...

Re: Best way to deal wth Insurance company!
My story: Someone drove into my iS 2 months ago, insurance valued it a £700 and tried to Cat C it (Based of Glasses Guide value for an E36 ). I went at them with a two pronged approach: 1. I knew their valuation was as good as made up so I asked, in writing, for evidence of where they got their...

Cheers for the replies guys :) General consensus here and on PH is that Glass's only covers up to 1992. So how they got a value from Glass's for a 1990 car is anyone's guess... Do E30's still feature in Glass's Guide?

I'm getting bored of saying this, you need to fit this or another of similar type (audi ones have cooling fins) cooling loop in the return line to avoid your PAS (ATF Dexron II) fluid overheating. You're talking to people who measure racks in lock to lock and fit them to the front holes instead of ...

Middle section to tailpipe then? Yup they're still available, still expensive :P I got a manifold-back system from Fritz's Bits for ~£500 after VAT and delivery, and they do a manifold for a further £500  it's a nice system, slightly freer following apparently (yeah right!) and uses all the or...

Three points for this: 1) You say you want to go engine to tailpipe, but the manifold for the iS is no longer available :( 2) I seem to remember getting a quote for the rest of the exhaust at around £800 for the parts alone from BMW in December last year  3) You've then got to add dealer prices...
