Side Skirts

Hi Guys, I've just been reading that there are some E30 IS side skirts still available from dealer. Do these side skirts differ from the E30 SE side skirts that were available on a few models? If IS side skirts are different, can you give me a part number and price? I think there was a fitting kit t...

Heater Blower Motor Removal with M52 installed

Has anyone with an M52 installed (and preferably M50 manifold) managed to get the heater blower motor out without dropping engine etc? Would be good to hear how people did it before I get stuck in. Mine stopped working this last week, fortunately it worked long enough to help me bleed the coolant sy...

Steering Rack Repair Kits

Hi,

Has anyone successfully replaced all the internal seals etc in a power steering rack? I have a spare E46 'purple tag' rack that I would like to spruce up and install, as the current purple tag rack installed is a bit leaky.

Re: HID Aftermarket installation regulations and your MOT.

I put my E30 in for an MOT this week, fully expecting them to fail it on the HID headlights (its been off the road for about a year)....but nothing was mentioned. One side is hidden behind the cover but I couldnt fit the cover on the passenger side due to the M52 airbox being in the way, so they wer...

Re: Clio Servo

Booking MOT this week now that I’ve finally managed to bleed clutch and brakes. I’ve got brand new Bosch calipers on rear and new to me WMS 4 pot setup on the front with braided lines. I also replaced brake master cylinder. I guess that’s why it took me a while to get it all bled up! Brake pedal fee...

How has the rod sheared?? Reckon you didn’t locate it properly during install? I had that first time I tried. Found it easier in the end to take everything off the car and build on the bench.

Got my brakes on and bled tonight. Brake pedal goes almost to the floor then bites. Can hear the servo whooshing during the pedal travel. Does this mean I haven’t bled it properly or my spacers needs work?

Re: M52 tapping noise

If you use sealant on a sump gasket, use it very sparingly. Any that squeezes out inside the sump is very effective at blocking the filter mesh on oil pick up pipes. I think my issue was in my effort to use it sparingly I used it unevenly...probably opening up some gaps. I'll update this thread onc...

I’ll try the Halfords one first as can get my hands on it quicker. If I cut the hard line off, how do I make it good for a new union bolt? Never done anything with brake lines before !!

Rounded union bolt - Front brakes

Trying to remove the flexi line on drivers side front brake (to install new braided lines) and the 11mm union bolt has rounded.

What are my options here? Is it safe to use heat here and some mole grips? Or am I going to have to replace the entire hardline back to the M/C ?

Drivers side front hardline, isnt that the one that goes behind the engine along the firewall...I guess if one was going to be kinked somewhere it would be that one!

Re: M52 tapping noise

Did the test Brian suggested and confirmed sound went away as soon as ignition was cut.

Took a punt on a new camshaft sensor and the noise has completely gone. Quiet as a mouse now so that was a result.

Now to just get the hydraulics sorted and I can think about driving the bloody thing!

I whipped the servo off tonight and retrieved the two MIA spacers lol. This time I joined the M/C and servo on the bench and then refitted as a complete unit. No more missing spacer! Re: Clio Servo

Have you tried using a telescopic magnet tool? Looks like the spring in the servo will prevent me from getting the magnet where I want it. Its not much bother to take the servo all the way out. Turns out I didnt have the push rod located in the master cylinder...must have slipped past when tussling to get the MC over the two mounting studs. Re: M52 tapping noise

I had a go at the bleed process yesterday but the noise really sounds like its coming from injector area, you can feel it with a hand on the fuel rail also. I had the injectors sent off to InjectorTune about a year or so ago for cleaning, they did come back with a warning that they could be sticky i...

Re: M52 tapping noise

I assume this is the bleeding process: Firstly, get the correct viscosity oil, you will not cure the problem if the oil is too viscous. The procedure is pretty simple and is designed to bleed the HVA elements: Check the oil level, replenish if necessary. Run the engine at idle and listen for noisy t...

Should also add engine hasn’t been run for at least 2 years since I removed from donor car.

I’ve read that overfilling oil by half a litre or so can help so might give this a go.
