Re: Calling all Getrag boffins
Obviously a random/unknown one then, the gear selector rod attached looks to be from a 320 so I guess that's where the box came from.

Calling all Getrag boffins
Does anyone know what a Getrag 240 with 004002 AMT stamped on the bell housing came from ?
These letters are not in the wiki so I have my doubts as to its origin, looking to possibly use it for an M52 swap.
Thanks,
Nick.

Measuring a propshaft length
Hi, does anyone know where to measure from when working out the length of a prop. The lengths given in the wiki don't specify, i.e stud end to stud end or input face to the flat of the uj ?
Just trying to work out which prop I have actually been sold.
Thanks,
Nick.

M42 hydro engine mounts
Does anyone have any experience with different branded M42 hydro engine mounts and increased/decreased engine vibration in the cabin ? I swapped out the old E28 M5 mounts for the original mounts expecting a decrease in vibration in the cabin but rather disturbingly got a significant increase. Its a ...

Re: Running but without the blue fuel pump relay fitted ?
Thanks Brian, I suspect some bodge wiring then (spent some of its life with the previous owner as a rally car) I did check to see if the empty socket had a green/violet wire to it as per the e30wiki. I will double check this evening though. My understanding is that the relay is used as a safety feat...

Running but without the blue fuel pump relay fitted ?
Hi, early this year I took on a 1990 318is as a bit of a project. It runs ok but very rich and in my diagnoses to this problem I noticed the middle relay of 3 (blue) under the scuttle is missing. When I fit one it clicks like mad and makes no difference to the engine speed/sound on idle. Is anyone a...

Re: E34 sump fitting
You will need to fabricate a simple bracket from below the inlet manifold out to the dipstick tube. A google will make it clearer.

Speed sensor plug and loom part numbers
I know there are a few people on here looking into replacing the speed sensor plug so i thought i would post this up for those interested. http://i.imgur.com/1ShnccU.jpg This is the plug needed and costs £0.77 + vat, often the same plug as the one for the horn. http://i.imgur.com/RQaljMm.jpg These a...

Battery loom to fuse box query
Morning, does anybody know if the small 4-5mm positive cable that runs together with the main battery loom from the boot feed the fuse box ? The battery was in the engine bay and they all joined together on the positive terminal block of the battery, with the new bracket that supports the new power ...

Re: Initial set-up advice.
Just for the heads up (and not sure what the previous owner did) but i had trouble with the rear springs dislocating so went for helpers and slightly more length, and the front springs are weighted for a 4 pot. I never competed so it is far from optimised and will definitely need correct springs fro...
