Re: groaning alarm....
Yeah, I'd quite like it all working as it should. It's a standard fit item. I guessed it had an internal battery that was finished. I'll try and replace the battery first before doing anything more drastic. Thanks for the help.

groaning alarm....
I've had my Touring in storage for 6 months with the battery disconnected. When I started it up the other day and brought it back into service the alarm started making a strange noise. I've had it switched off (with the key) while the car was stored, and when I switched it back on, it made a constan...

Paint shop Romford / East London
Anyone recommend a good paint shop near Romford? Just some cosmetic work and the usual rust above the tail pipe?

Another 5star report for BJV, they did my wheels perfectly 2 years ago and they're still as new. I stripped the centre caps down to the metal rings and they painted those too for free.

anyone recovered a touring headlining?
Just wondered if anyone had successfully done the job? I made a new headlining for a car (honda Civic) a couple of months back by stretching headlining fabric between the front and rear then sticking the sides up. Sounds like a car crash but it actually looked factory finished in the end. Thought I ...

Re: removing tight bolts
I love jobs like these...... Replacing the lower arms on my mates Fiesta (max 45 mins a side) took me 3 days and an angle grinder. The arm came off in about 5 bits in the end. At the START of the job he said 'I don't expect you to do it for nothing' I thought about £30-40. After all the drama and wa...

factory aircon fan resistor bypassed?
Whilst replacing the headlamp levelling system I noticed the resistor on the fan shroud for the electric aircon fan has been cut off and the 2 wires connected together. What does the resistor do, and should I replace it or just leave it bypassed? I'm not sure when the fan should actually come on eit...

sunroof manual to electric conversion
I'm converting my manual sunroof to electric. do I need to swap the motor with the tubes and cables complete, or can I use my existing tubes and cables and just fit the motor? If I need to swap the lot, my question is how do I detatch the ends of the cables from the sunroof runners as they look like...

Scott, that money has never arrived back in my account. I've checked and just re-checked. Due to the way transfers now take place, a transfer of this amount would be instant. It's pointless sending you any more pm's because you just don't respond. If you've sent the refund, then get in touch with me...

Re: ABS light on after sensor clean
The ABS light coming on only after about 5 mins would point to a faulty sensor to me. If the car is ticking over but not moving, there's no information from the rotating wheels being sent to the ABS ECU, and thus no faults. It only detects a fault when it's fed sensor information, so it must be a se...

Re: SCOTT325SE - think iv been had???
I've got nothing good to add here. Nearly 2 months ago I paid a tenner for a main beam headlamp. Pm's and emails went back and forth no problem until I paid the money. Since then I've had all of my pm's ignored. After hijaking another post and shaming him, he replid (publicly) he was very sorry, fel...

Re: Front susp top mount damper nut tightening problem
I've just removed the legs on my 325 breaker and I have a question which you might be able to answer seeing as you've just had yours off: The bearing plate at the top (with the 3 studs in) turns nice and smoothly, but if you try and rock it (like you're checking for bearing wear) there is quite a bi...

No it's all nice and dry. Wasn't working at all when I bought the car, replaced, lasted about 6 months then that 'stuck on'. Current one's been in over a year- no probs touch wood. Dealer wanted around £60 IIRC, got a second hand one for under a tenner. I thought it was common!

oh great. I ve had one out before, I seem to remember a screw point somewhere around there, do I leave that on, or is it just held up by the rigid portion? BTW, did they make a beige visor panel or are they all black?

Has anybody managed to fit an electric roof to a touring using the rigid sun visor panel? Ive got a rattle in my manual one and I'm gonna have to pull the headlining down to investigate, so I thought I could fit my elec roof kit at the same time. Any other ways to get around sourcing the correct hea...

Just had my switchable auto repaired, it was holding 2nd when cold. Sometimes it would rev up and lose drive until I stopped the car and drove off again. New valve chest fitted by local specialist cost £175 and fixed the problem. Sounds like you could have a sticky solenoid/valve. Generally when t...

interesting. The pads are I think ATE, no powerdiscs though. The brakes themselves don't work too bad, not fantastic, but when I'm giving the car a good caning around the lanes, they are fantastic once they are hot. Have now replaced all 4 discs and pads, all ECP and GSF parts. I'm sick to the back teeth with pissing brake squeal. front door adjustment
My front drivers door (touring) sits too far forward and is fouling the wing when it opens (only a very slight graze - enough to rub the paint)
What's the scope of adjustment on the doors? It's not a Renault 'doors off and sledge hammer' effort is it?
cheers
Dan
