i've ruled fuel leak out as it smells of exhaust not petrol, + ive just had tank and all lines replaced

im goning to resurect this and ask if there is any way to "set up" the afm adjustment, my car stinks with windows open, closed with blowers on its loverly!!! the ex manifold is ok and there is no apparent holes in the exhaust?!?!

thanks :) strangely enough i filled the tank up today and the noise has gone, its only happened since i swapped the tank, ive never put more than £15 in now i have £60 in :O ill check the rubber O-ring and perhaps just remove the pump and replace it, i would have thought it would slowly get lounder ...

if i "pursuade" the pump round clockwise a little the noise/vibration stops, but after so long of driving it restarts 
thanks sanitroc1 sounds possible its the rear bushes there not in a1 condition ill change them next then as with mine i have changed everything you have already

well after a good year of replacing nearly everything, i have two problems left. 1) the car vibrates over 80mph, was origionally at 65mph but after prop, centre bearing guibo etc replace its loads better, what else can it be? nothing is loose or nothing showed up on mot etc. and the tyres/wheels are...

^ not that i advocate unsafe cars btw, just last year they tried to fail it for corroded fuel lines, which turned out to be soil/mud on them as i only replaced them 3 months prior !

£80 is good if you cba with the hassle, you have to take prop off etc as in the wiki, although you cant have the rear wheels on ramps as you have to turn the prop to get at bolts (well i did maybe it was poor planning) rusty bolts and crap in your eyes awaits you. given the choice again i would pay ...

mine was a pain there was alot of swearing comming from under the car that day, i used a trolly jack with a plank on wood gaffer taped to it to hold the tank in place while i screwed the bolts in

Heater first, it all works loverly nice and hot etc, but ive noticed in the warmer weather if i turn the heater down a nats then it goes completly cold through the upper vents although the windscreen and feet ones are still nice and warm any ideas? mine did it when i first got car, tapped it and it shot back up, was a dodgy connection behind speedo, other place to check as mentioned is the two wires going into your diff

ok, so when i bought my car it can with some lovery kahn 18" alloys, not really to my taste but there was plenty of tread on them so ive been rotating them till there getting low, now i want to find somthing a little more subtle but need some help, all i find are newer bmw wheels like e46 or alpinas...

just above the rear lights & beneath the boot seal was my culprit before it all got welded up and resprayed. use a watering can to pour water in the gutter runners and you will get your answer
failing that get a small child to sit in the boot with a torch lol (joke)

thanks for help, i checked the nut and thats ok, maybe its the sensor, i believe its from a 320 and mines a 325 if that makes a difference? im kinda thinking the thermostat is opening as i commute 17 miles odd and it dont go over 3/4??? it would need to open going that far and have some sort of cool...

yea it is, the top rail is hot and the bottom/most of it is cold is this normal then? the guage never really goes over 3/4 maybe a nats over sometimes, i replaced the guage sensor a while back as it didnt work could i have a crappy sensor?

sounds like its ur lock barrel, you can test the lock signal from the door. its the blue wire and white wire lock/unlock signals, check a wiring diagram though been a few months since i messed in that area.

the window runners are misaligned or bolt on rear one sheared, take door card off will reveal whats causing it, should be easy to spot if its jamming
