Hi

Yeah, realise my mistake now - ignition timing is from crank sensor, so using a strobe isn't going to tell me anything about my cam timing.

Ignition timing

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the stock ignition timing is at idle for an m20b25.

I am running a vernier cam pulley, and I want to check I have set it correctly. Presumably I can use a timing strobe on spark lead for cylinder 1?

Cheers

M20 stroker misfire. Detonation?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUOJ2i-HcFw&feature=youtu.be Hi I’m having problems with a persistent misfire on my engine (stroked 325i). The engine starts and idles fine, has plenty of power, but misfires when idling, hot or cold ”“ you can feel the car shake. There’s also a slight stumble when th...

Cant afford to get one made, so would like to go DIY route. See some advertised on US sites - anyone know anywhere in the UK? Any help much appreciated Chee...

DIY exhaust - where can I buy flange plate?

Hi I need to make a custom exhaust manifold to fit a m20b25 head (NA, not turbo). Anyone know where can I source a flange plate from? Also, should I use mild steel or stainless? I've got a welder set up for mild steel, but have read that stainless is easier to work with. Is that correct? Are there a...

Adjust throttle plate - what am I doing wrong?

Hi I've adjusted my throttle plate as described in the Bentley manual: 0.4mm clearance between plate and wall at idle position. However, to get the TPS adjusted correctly, I had elongate the holes in the sensor mount so that I could rotate the TPS enough for it to see the idle position. ??? Once adj...
