Actually I would like to know too if there is a way to remove the rear part of the headliner back to access the rear sunroof drains? I pressed against mine and it sounds like cornflakes....aka rust.

Thanks Brian,
Just checked there and they're reading in around that.
It must the wiring. Are they known to break in certain areas?
just rechecking the C1 Pinouts of the cluster now.

Yet another fuel gauge problem
 Ok I've a weird one. (not that an E30 with a fuel gauge problem is weird or even unheard of.) Anyways, I have figured out why the fuel gauge shows the needle being empty (no light on) when there is a little less than a 1/4 of a tank still in it. The passenger side level sender doesn't 'seem' t...

Re: Dashboard gauges
There is a couple of reasons: 1. the battery djsimmy is on about are the ones inside the gauge itself on the SI Board. 2. a fuse has blown. Check fuse 10 and 21. 3. there is a reverse wire under the gear gator, lift this up and check that it hasn't split and is grounding of the chassis. If so, you'l...

Re: S50B32 not running clean
Hi, I forgot about this thread. It can only be a failed sensor / coil or more likely a bad wire/ connection. I had the same issue and after nearly 2 years of chasing it, I eventually found the problem(s). Well there was a few but you'll see below what I mean. The idle control valve had open cracks o...

Oh right, does he have any contact information? I wouldn't mind finding out if he did this car! Nice to know more about the car. Just too note too I got the car into Total BMW a few years back! I just came across this thread now! That's my car now, still the same owner since late 2007! Badges have been removed, air filter has been replaced with a proper one. Re: S50B32 not running clean
With an O2 disconnected, voltage returned on the O2 will be zero. The ECU might throw an error. The car will run very rich. If you have a bad o2 then with it diconnected it should run better but will be annoying to drive. Have a read of this link http://www.aa1car.com/library/o2sensor.htm To quote -...

Re: s50 getting fuel and sparking but wont fire??
I would change the plugs even though you might clean them etc and they still spark but it might not be enough of a spark to ignite the fuel. I always keep my old spark plugs from each service I do becuase once I got the same symptoms as you, I put in my old dry plugs and the car started up first go.

Re: S50B32 not running clean
When the engine is cold the O2 sensors and a few other sensors are ignored. The temp sensor indicates to the engine when to start reading signals from the O2 when the car is up to temperature. It then 'listens' to the readings from the O2 sensor. A bad o2 sensor(s) may be your problem.

Hi Larsen, I had similar issues, hesitiation from 1500 to 5000 revs. I found a few things wrong when fault finding, idle control hoses where bad. A couple of other vacuum leaks. However, 2 of the biggest changes I notice where 1. Oxygen sensors where replace. 90% performance difference. 2. Cam senso...

Re: instrument probs.
I presuming your car is a manual. If so, pull up the gear stick boot and you should see a rubber boot underneath. There should be a wire coming through this boot. What happens overtime is, with sloppy gear changes this wire gets rubbed up against the metal of the car chassis. After awhile it exposes...

Rev gauge flicks when driving only
Hi, My rev gauge flicks every now and again only when driving, as if its shorting out or something. It only drops a bit sometimes or sometimes all the way to 0 and very quickly recovers, It’s not consistent either, it might be ok one day with only a few flicks, another day, it flicks constantly. The...

I can see on your picture a marking but just can't make it out. Also, Girling and ATE rear calipers are identical....
