i've found some rot here, here and here!!
started stripping down my '88 325i to see just how bad the rot is, unfortunately the rear arches are completely shot (photo of the n/s one but o/s is much worse), holes in front footwells, around battery in boot/rear panel, spare wheel well, around bracket for fuel pipe - corroded in boot. Now debat...

My oil pressure switch is leaking oil on my 88' 325i. Simply job I thought to replace! got another one from GSF but goes on for first few threads then no further - don't want to force it. Took it back and ordered one from the dealers, its arrived but has the wrong connector! comes with a metal (male...

Re: How can i check if there is rust in the roof?
As M3Jim said best thing is to remove the sunroof, I've just removed the sun roof on my 325i, found quite a bit of rust at the back of the roof, no rot formed so think I've caught it early enough. Just need to find a way of sorting it out as it's not easy to get to!!

Don't clean my 325i at all as only had it a few weeks and have started restoring it! But I do have a mint E34 535i, this is spotless! wash with auto glym shampoo, leather, autoglym super resin polish to get all the fine scratches out then high definition wax (£25 a pot!) use Meguiars trim detailer f...

Anybody know about O Rings??
Need to replace the O Ring on the oil level sensor, went to BMW but this part is no longer available. Shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of one but need to know which size (don't want to have to take the sensor off then go hunting for one!). It says on Real OEM that it is 3 x42,3 If I go to a su...

£2700!!!! ouch, you probably don't want to know it costs me £100 (on classic car insurance).Liam554 wrote:Ouch. I'm 20 and my insurance is £2700 a year for a 318i, because I have a claim for a barrier on my record. Without it my insurance drops down to £1500..
Might be a nasty shock, fingers crossed though.

Has anyone changed an oil level sensor gasket??
In the 2 weeks I've owned my E30 325i I've done quite a few jobs, main thing to fix was the oil leaks. Done the value cover gasket and intake manifold gaskets. Steam cleaned the engine and underneath today then run the engine for a while. Found that oil is pouring out around where the oil level sens...

Hi, Just finished fitting new valve cover gasket and intake manifold gaskets, as well as a few other jobs! on my 325i Thought I'd labelled where everthing goes but there's two pipes to the throttle body, same size pipes, one above the other, can't remember which one goes where. Is the pipe from the ...

Rust in the roof!
Took the sunroof out of my 325i today as there was a scraping sound I needed to fix. When I got it out and looked in the space where the sunroof goes back could see quite a bit of rust around the drain holes. Used a garden cane to prod it and it's solid but how am I going to be able to get to it to ...

Can turning the crank anti clockwise cause damage??
Hi,
Been checking and adjusting the valves on my 325i today, it says in the manual to turn the crank clockwise to get set it to top dead centre, turned it anti clockwise a couple of times by mistake when setting up the valves, is that a problem??

Advice on suspension and brakes for my 325i
Hi, Recently bought an 1988 E30 325i, wanting to change the discs, pads, shocks and springs. Might want to take it to some track days but will be mainly driven on public roads. Had a look at several sites but there are so many different brands, was looking at Bilstein B4 shocks and EBC brakes but no...
