Have a good look at the brake hoses. An excellent upgrade that improves the pedal feel is to fit quality Braided lines. Ensure you buy a kit with 6 Hoses. I fitted a 6 hose kit and the improvement was marked. Also have a look at your existing hoses and check for any bubbles appearing, if so the hose...

Trackday, Queensland Raceway 02 April 2011 (Aust)
Hello all. Yesterday was an awesome track day for the trusty E30 325i. It was held at Queensland Raceway west of Brisbane in Queensland. My last attempt resulted in a best Sprint Circuit time of 1.07.84 in Sept 2010. Since Then I have fitted an LSD, original 3.73 ratio and a heavy front sway bar. To...

LSD into 325i
Patience is a virtue, and i have needed plenty waiting for an LSD to come up at a reasonable price for my E30 325i Manual. Finally located a good LSD centre and fitted it this week. Absolutely transforms the car, can't wait until the next track day to see how much time i pick up. LSD's were a rare f...

Hello Gents. A Continuation on the track day thread. I had another day at Queensland Raceway in the 325i on Saturday. Now my best time is 1.07.0698 on the Sprint Circuit. I feel i have reached about the best time with the car without furthur mods. I pushed it quite hard and will say i am so impresse...

While on the subject, and concidering these cars are being used on tracks with high G force loadings that cause the engine oil to be forced up the side, front and rear of the engine, is it worth putting in some type of Sump Windage tray to keep the oil down, or do M20 sumps already have a satifactor...

I did a Track day today, and also have an engine oil leak! Is wet around the rear main area, but not confirmed if it is rear main seal. How old is your engine? Mine is original 22yrs old 252000KM so mine may be blow by which may result in an engine rebuild or M30 or M50 conversion. Good luck sorting...

Hello All, Just a quick note. Had my second track day today in the E30 325i. Managed to achieve a 1.07.87 today as my best time. Best time last time was 1.10.57, so near a 3 second improvement. I was rapt. Biggest issue was the new Kumho KU36 205/50/15 semi slicks. The car is just so different over ...

Re:
Typically the amount of camber you can achieve is dictated by the strut top you are using, not whether it is Macpherson strut or a coilover. For example, I use an Australian made adjustable strut top with my KW V2 coilovers and can only get 3 degrees camber. I know many of the E30 racing guys here ...

I fitted HEL Braided hoses to mine, Gave an instant reduction in pedal travel due to a reduction in flex in standard hoses absorbing fluid volume. Don't knock it until you try them. A common improvement in E36 M3's is braided clutch slave cyl hose to prevent clutch drag, i even think that it may hav...

Re:
A heavier front bar is well worth considering but you might want to add a rear as well. Look to upgrade everything associated with their mounting, too (bushes, links, etc.). Mine has a factory rear bar fitted. I am usually inclined to stiffen the front and leave the rear with plenty of articulation...

Hello Gents, Have now fitted the 15 inch rims and Kumho KU36 205/50/15 semi slicks. What a difference, ultra direct and pin sharp steering and response on the road. Did use the subframe bush fillers as the previous owner had recently replaced them with oe rubber bushes. The rear end feels firm now. ...

That is pretty normal on e 30's. The access area in the footwell is enclosed. Panel shops cut open the panel and weld the mounting on the inside. What i did with mine was to make a small alloy plate and rivet it beside the door brake mount. I cut a slot so the mount sits in the slot securely. Worked...

Working on this one today - have some tabbed Ni-MH batteries. A couple of novice questions ( :o: ). 1.
