WTD - Z3 3.15 LSD or similar ratio
Hi all, looking for a 3.15 Z3 LSD for my M50 swapped car. (Pretty sure it's got an E36 box with 1:1 5th). Would consider anything around 3.1/3.2 ratio, it's got a 3.73 in at the moment and it was rubbish on track, and even worse on the motorway. Located in Midlands or Essex, so anything midlands/sou...

M50B25TU (single vanos) running problem
Hi all, got a problem with my M50 I can't work out - need some recommendations. Car was running fine until yesterday evening, when I started the car to some running trouble. I noticed that the car had no power under any sort of load. It revs freely with the clutch depressed, but won't accelerate the...

That's surely the problem right there. If you mount it on the wonk, the gearbox mounts and shifter are going to be offset too?

Did this today. I tried both ways - not being so happy with the angle grinder first, but ended up following the method above. You just can't seem to push the cups out enough in the vice.
Definitely worthy of the Wiki.

Splitting a steering UJ (Corsa linkage)
Can't seem to find an answer to this - the wiki is a little vague about the process. http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Corsa_Steering_Linkage I can't find any guides or information on how to split a steering UJ. What's the process of removing the cups for the UJ, without destroying it? It...

14mm fuel breather hose relocation
I've got GAZ coilovers on my Touring, and the rear right spring rubs on the metal cover in the photo below: http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo57/rjcaptsbmws/318ic%20Progress/100_1399.jpg The two small lines are OK - I can "massage" the cover to give enough room without crushing them. But the 14mm...

How the hell do you remove this piece of carpet?!! I've removed the 3 obvious plastic nuts, but it's still not feeling like it'll budge any time soon?!

Stronger driveshafts sound good. But I thought it was the CV's that are the weak point on the BMW shafts?

Absolutely awesome! The comps with the spoiler lip etc give it a real Group A vibe!
The stud conversion is essential too. I'm sick of wheel bolts - after having a few JDM cars recently I forgot how much of a ballache they are!

In my opinion, £500 without the wheels is about the limit for both parties! I certainly wouldn't pay any more for an MOT-less 316 Touring, but in your position I wouldn't want to sell for much less!

You can't buy them - i'm reserving them for my JZE30 build!!
Rota BM8's/Rota Shakotan (I think they had to change the name).
Low offset though, so don't buy them unless you're prepared to get the arch roller out.

Single headlight conversion?
Does anyone know of a lighting configuration that would enable me to ditch the centre high beam lights on an E30? A bit like the Golf Mk1/Mk2 single lamp conversions? It would be useful to have the space for an air feed and intercooler piping. Like this, but without the single headlight grille: http...

That's made me worry watching that. Spent far too much on 4x100 coilovers not too long ago, but the brake upgrades are so much cheaper when you swap to 5 stud.
And the rim choices are so much better for 4x100!

Re: GAZ GHA Coilovers - advice needed
Due to the design, all PROPER e30 coilovers require them to be built on an original strut stub axle.
If you can find any "off the shelf" ones then they more than likely will be doing a trade-in type of thing, where you fit your coilovers, then send your original front struts to them!

TA-Technix (hottuning) shocks and springs - 60/40. Best of the budgets.
Don't just stick some lowering springs with your original shocks, it'll make you sea sick, or break your spine.

I'm bored. Driving it up until the end of November, then 2JZ or RB25 single turbo swap is going to happen. Not sure which one yet - i'll have to see what parts I get offered up.
Soon to be up for sale - high comp M20B25 with B20 shorter ratio gearbox, scorpion 3 piece system etc.

Quasar - yes that was me. I did see and hear your M52 cabby, it was very, very nice! A good set of BBS RM's will set you back about 7/800 quid (without tyres) for a 15x8j pair and a 15x9j set. They'd be looooovely!
Or how about a nice set of 15" OZ Turbos?

I've been offered an M52B28 with gearbox, ancillaries, ECU, EWS, etc for a very good price. But i'm torn. I don't know whether to take the offer up and go for it, or to enjoy the M20B25 in its intended origin. Pros for the M52/Cons for the M20: - More power and torque - Noticeable as an engine swap ...

15x8j BBS RM012 is where you want to be :D Makes the offset et13, rather than the standard et24 of the mesh BBS. An 8j rim would be a 2" lip - enough to look "dishy" without losing the centre of the rim! Fit them with a 205/50 15, and you'll be away! Just to mention though - you're mental running me...
