Re: Reliable, trustworthy garage in West Yorkshire.

Hi Jamie
What sort of things do you want doing?
Mine (pre-facelift 325i convertible) goes to Brian at B S Auto at Horbury Bridge. He's sound and used to run an E30. However he's semi retired and so turnaround is not quick.

Re: Nooooo!!! Please tell me this isn't true

Are BMW in on the joke?
I've been trying to get a new diff to be told that they have now discontinued
the exchange differential units.

325i Auto Diff reconditioning

Hi Folks
Are there any suggestions where I might get a reconditioned diff for a 1987 325i auto? Cotswold can't help as BMW are no longer supplying units.
Cheers

White Chromie 325i auto convertible with a blue roof and blue leather.
We've been enjoying it for nearly 4 years now...

(I bought a white 320i manual with a blue roof new in 1987, sold it in 1989)

The only improvements would be cruise control and a decent armrest.

Anyone used Quarry Motors Sheffield?

As it says in the title - has anyone used Quarry Motors in Sheffield for servicing/maintenance etc ?

I've been using a main dealer for my cabby and I'm just looking at alternatives who are relatively local (Sheffield, Huddersfield, Wakefield) and who know E30s.

Glyn http://www.elitedetailer.co.uk/specialistdetailing.htm Teaches at swissvax, he will do a fantastic job, have seen his work. I have just had Glyn attend to my car today on the basis of this recommendation. He's done a fantastic job. Not cheap but well, well worth it. Nice bloke and offered some...

Re: Wind Deflector (2)

could be that someone has had the rear side panels out and not refitted them properly..the panels have to fit tight to the glass to be correct ...I found this when i had mine off to take out the seatbelts Good suggestion! The O/S side panel wasn't fitted properly. Wind deflector now fits perfectly.

Thanks folks.

I was curious as to whether it was an issue with pre-facelift cars. I will look at the side panels.

Wind Deflector (2)

Following on from the recent thread, has anyone had a problem fitting a genuine BMW deflector? I bought one off fleaby. It was advertised as being genuine BMW but I was a bit unhappy because it didn't 'sit' properly over the rear seats and a consequence it was starting to chew up the side panels. So...

Re: Not alot of love for the 320i

I bought a 320 convertible new in 1987. The point being that it was significantly cheaper than a 325 (318's weren't available then).

Erratic Cabby Electric Windows

I have just acquired a pre-facelift convertible. The electric windows all work but erratically (sometimes one will and other times it won't). The fact that they all work sometimes suggests it is a weak electrical connection, but I don't know the best place to start looking. Has anyone had a similar ...

Re: lost keys

I have just acquired a pre facelift convertible with only one key (which is slightly bent!) BMW at Harrogate supplied two new keys based on the vehicle ID at a cost of £13.56 each. The only problem is that at sometime the locks on the car have been changed and consequently the new keys don't fit. Alyn
