Re: smashed the sump off the e30

What engine is it? I know someone who can make taller engine mounts for the M42 (and potentially all other engines). I had them fitted to mine and the car was great - engine vibration was high, until I put a piece of rubber sheet between the mount and the engine, then it was fine day to day. And the...

McDisco - they become VERY loud, depending on how many boxes you have. I have the front box and a cherry bomb rear on my exhaust and it's uber loud. Very free-flowing though! (mid box removed)

Have a look and see if there is a 'longlife' exhaust place near you, they do custom ones too. There's also a company on RetroRides who do custom exhausts cheap - e.g. £200-£300ish I'd have thought.

Re: my cars mega low.lowest springs and shocks you can get

Trust me mate, that isn't low. If you buy a lowered car, either sort the damn thing or or live with it, don't complain! If you want to sort it out, just buy a 40mm all round kit and you'll be fine. Speed bumps need to be taken slower with a lowered car - that's just logic IMO, my car is lower than t...

I can do any/all spax kits discounted for you if you're interested. If you actually want a 'low' car, 60/40 or 60mm all round, or coilovers.

By rubbing do you mean on the floor, or the tyres?

How low is your car? I've got a good 70mm drop on my car and I've got 195/55's on the front that don't catch! (which I was mega suprised about tbh) Getting a new suspension kit will be beneficial - you will KNOW what drop/setup you have and everything will be new. I can get you a reasonable discount...

I've actually written some useful information in that post, and been completely honest. And if I posted using my other username that actually has a decent post count,...

Re: Roundabouts and LSDs

You're obviously not man enough to have a welded diff, so don't! But if you want to become GOOD at drifting, you'll take the step to have the diff welded, or buy a 2-way. An old worn out E30 LSD just will not cut it. If you want to pop round a private roundabout sideways occasionally, then spend lot...

Never heard of camber issues running Eibachs btw.. What a silly comment - the suspension design of the E30 dictates that lowering it created negative camber - irrelevant of the suspension manufacturer! Yup, just get some spacers - either buy or make them from some rubber sheeting. As for the damper...

I use 195/50 on the front and 195/50 or 195/60 on the rear. Depends what tyres turn up!
Those are 15's of course, I'd use 16's if I could find a decent attractive wheel for good money.

BadDave, surely 17" wheels with a MANLY offset would fit instead?

I was about to type out the dimensions of the Spax ones for you, but you already have them, so not much point! Longer springs and longer dampers. You can get custom springs made pretty cheap from some places, had one of our customers recommend someone to me, but can't remember who for the life of me! Imys - why? You can get plenty of power by turbo'ing the 6 pots on stock internals, and spend a lot less.

If you're aiming for big power, yeah, 1JZ, 2JZ, 1UZ or big yank V8. But you'd not need to worry to 350bhp or so!
