Re: Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner

As Jos says, I've had no problems with the shampoo at all. The paint on my car is pretty crap - it had gone a nice pink colour in just over 2 years.

Keep the Sport, Ken. M3s are like arseholes to be honest. A clean E30 like yours is pretty rare, as most are sheds or rotboxes. Or 318's. :)

Months is hardly going to set oil in the sump, unless it hasn't been changed in years upon years. Tyres might be lumpy for the first mile, and may need some air. Also make sure to apply the brakes to rub the rust off the discs before you actually need to stop at some traffic lights and discover they...

Vauxhall's oil is made by Delco. It's pretty good budget oil, probably better than Castrol Magnatex anyway :)

I'm a big fan of Silkolene/Fuchs oils. They're particularly good.

THe iX was pretty popular in the States. The Ferguson 4WD system was also used in the Sierra. Considering Mr. Ferguson designed it back in the 50s it's a pretty good system. :)

On the Vauxhall side of things, the chips don't tend to do much as Vauxhall always rate their engines low.

For example, my stock 75hp rated 1.2 Corsa dynoed to 80.3hp on a RR that's considered to read slightly low.

Well, I've used one of those wee round wire brush things that go into a drill to clean the major crap off the side of a Standard Vangard engine, and it worked OK. Again, not wonderful, but it did a reasonable job. I just sprayed the engine with red primer to keep the rust down a bit.

Good grip and good life are difficult to get together in a tyre, unless you go up to the big boys like Michelin, Goodyear or Bridgestone. All the elcheapos are either soft with good grip or hard as hell with no grip. Take something like a Michelin Pilot Primacy HX - they last forever, yet there's so...

Bridgestone all the way.

I've Potenza RE720s on my motor, they'd smash wood into pulp before puncturing, and they're the best gripping tyre I've used (and I've used most tyres at one time or another).

Oh, and they can even make decent F1 tyres. :)
