Ps meant to say she also has navigation and Aux in the spec and I meant the rear brake pipes haven't been replaced. Any mods reading this thinking this is a cheeky advert fear not it is not. Thanks

Front shock absorbers for 51mm struts for my 325i............ £400 +VAT !! EACH!!!! Ridiculous when one can get a pair of Bilstein B4s for £150! I ended up swapping the front struts for a good secondhand pair which made sense as one of the wheel bearings was shot. I was quoted £175+ VAT for MSport f...

Re: MOT failure on anti-roll bar mount
You should also change the bolt. I had a rattle from the front suspension on my car for ages and I eventually tracked it down to the drop links being worn and the bolts that link them to the anti roll bar and the bracket you've replaced on the wishbone as well as the bracket. Since replacing them al...

M20 B25 steering rack '89 convertible
My '89 Convertible has failed its MOT on a leaking rack. This is the second time it has in my ownership the last time was in 2004. At that time I had it replaced it with a GS&F refurbished rack. Looking to put a secondhand rack on myself to keep the costs down and was wondering what the difference i...

Factory fitted alarm & immobiliser which works by way of a magnetic key inserted into the door and amazingly still works 23 years after it was installed. There's also a Motorola immobiliser that has been in it for well over 15 years and still functions correctly.

Re: A Waterless coolant system
I have used distilled water / coolant mix ever since buying my E30 in 2002 as I read that it was less likely to cause corrosion of the head. Haven't had any problems other than it running a little cool since I changed it last time as I followed the 60:40 rather 70:30 ratio.

I've done the LED conversion just needed the correct resistor between the leds. Got all the bits from Maplin for about £4. A bit of a fiddle but now works very well. I've previously replaced with a genuine OEM bulb pack which lasted about 5 years and 40,000 miles......

I've got a swan neck one like the one in the top picture sitting in the garage which I bought for my cabriolet but wouldn't fit easily due to there being much bigger chassis rails on it than a saloon or touring. Might be persuaded to part with it if anyone was interested?

I've managed over 400 miles a couple of times in my 325i cabriolet. Once cruising all day to the south of France on super unleaded at circa 80-90 mph. The other time in the uk on 95ron cruising on the motorway at 80 mph (very little town driving). Best MPG I've ever recorded was 34mpg when a mate of...

Re: second key mechanism on the drivers door?
It is original BMW and mine still works although intermittently as the deadlock needs adjusting again. I'd had the car for 4 years before I worked out that it still worked. It will only work when the car is deadlocked and if you forget to disarm it when you've unlocked the door it sets the alarm off.
