Re: Rear ride height.
I've never known it to hit the bumpers when driving, but then I'm not a particularly hard driver, and a cabby doesn't really reward you for it either other than new pants every once in a while. And I'm not that fussed about the look of it really, it looks long, low and with the roof down a lovurrrrl...

Re: Does anyone know who has this car? Alpina cab
Don't confuse this beauty with my beaten up cab. It's got the same body kit, but crappy alpina reps and alpina badges. Been driving it around Oxford for the last eight or so years just never got round too rebadging it or justifying new wheels. There's enough else on it that needs my constant attenti...

Re: Rear ride height.
Half my problem is that I've no idea what's on it already. So for a novice like me to try and gauge the height and where to work it all out from is a bit of a head scratcher. It would be easy just to head straight for stock height and work from there. But I'm trying to find a middle ground that I ca...

I'm looking to get the back of my cabbie back up in the air to stop it looking like it's dragging it's arse like a sick Golden Retreiver and also the cost of tyres is doing my nut. I didn't lower it myself, and have never done any lowering or sus work at all myself so don't really know what I'm look...

Oooo. Don't say things like that. Suppose I just gotta keep going through the motions till it's cleared the fault.
I'll be asking for a new head from someone next.

Re: M20B20 bleeding coolant system
I'm still going through issues very similar to this. (Without the LPG). Not tried the bulkhead bleed yet, but I've changed the thermostat, the viscious, The pump was changed no so long ago. Seems that everytime I drive it (Need to get to Cardiff and back on a regular basis. 400 miles most weekends) ...

Having done the decent thing and used the search function . . . . . . May I thank you yet again for this invaluable assistance and advice. I do believe, gentlemen. That with your brains and my skinned knuckles Operation 'Cool e30' is successful. One new thermostat, a refill, bleed and general tidging, tadging and a quick roundabout to roundabout I couldn't get her over half way. In fact I've never seen her sit so low before. Sits betwe...

Re: Removing viscous fan.
Yea, thats all there. And the heating side of things is whats confusing me. When the engine temp rises, the heat gets colder. And gets hotter again when the temp starts falling. I always took that cold air in an overheating engine means no water. I got plenty of water, and been bleeding it pretty mu...

It's still playing up on me. Sat in traffic on the m4 last night was not making me a happy man. Had to spend a few cigarette minutes on the hard shoulder waiting for the traffic to start moving again so my 'Air cooled' engine didn't think that red is the new black all the time. Think it's going to b...

Thanks for all your help guys. Bled the Bejesus out of it. Seems to have brought all temps down to a far more reasonable level. Re: Removing viscous fan.
unfortuantly my bleed nut is rounded of by the previous owner. I've tried at the thermostat as well. But water comes straight out of there.
Apparently another good place to do it from is the where the water pipes head through the bulkhead to the matrix. Will try that.

Didn't need to get a holding tool, just gentle tapping and it came right off. Easiest job I've had on the old girl yet. Still confusing me though. Hi guys. Having read as much as I can find on here about overheating problems I think I've diagnosed the viscious fan coupling as the problem. I have a cabbie. And I'd give it a while before you start thinking of blinging her up. They cost enough just doing all the bits that need doing but your never going to see. Not being an arse here. Just offering something that would probably be told to you by the council. That looks storm water/sewer too my eyes. Re: What is the lowest drop springs available for a cab 325i
If you want some advice from someone who bought a 325 cabbie with 17's and 60mm drop, is don't. 40mm is plenty. Honeslty. You spend more times shitting a brick going over speed bumps and anything that looks like a small bump in the road than you will admiring the 'stance'. Plus 17's are heavy, traml...

It's not the sump thats the problem, it's the silencer. Bloody thing hangs down at least an inch lower than the cills. But regardless, I've come to my senses with regards to arse scraping, tyre chewing, butt clenching lowness. I gave it it's fair dues and tryed living with it, but whilst I do like a...

By 40/40 do you mean thats a 40mm drop? I'm sorry, really am a layman here. Just been reading up on the wiki. And yes, first e30, and don't mean it to be my last. How to de-council my motor!
Hi guys. I'm the proud owner of a lowered black cabbie sitting on 17" Alpina reps. (All done by the previous owner) I've been steadily sorting the mechanicals out and she's running pucka now. But I'm going through rear tyres like there is no tomorrow due to the camber induced by the lowering. I do a...

Ok. Ok. I'm sorry, I'm running seventeen alpina reps. I bought it like that ok! I'm spending enough on the car as it is without having to worry about whether my wheels ain't fashionable. They look alright, if a bit battered and bruised, and fit into the wheel wells well. (Say that repeatadly). One t...

I hjad the rear bushes done on mine recently along with a referbed LSD, rear brake lines, Diff bush, and some rear arch wielding. All in was just under a grand. Isn't a handbrake something you only use to go around corners? This parking and the use of the handbrake thing, I'm unaware of this concept. Does it involve smoking tyres and a screaming girlfriend? Re: Never realised how light E30s are compared to modern car
Ncap ratings answer pretty much all that question for you. You look at a modern front end, to any car really, and compare that to the cardboard carton the e30 sports. Along with side impact bars, huge A pillars, B pillars, C pillars and if you've got a Q7, the D, E and F Pillars too. Plus the rear i...

Where are all the good Tourings?
So many cabbies, sports, Moar Doors, Track Trash and Sheds. But where are all the nice Tourings that I can pass my eye and make an offer on. Some of us are old enough to desire both practical and pace in our motors. And my cabbie only really gives me one of those. Been looking out for a nice touring...

I was only saying that as a 'look' for an e30 (which I admire for it's clean lines and lovely snout) it's not up my alley. Isn't it carrying the same kit that someone trying selling on here a little while back? It didn't look all that on that machine either. Obviously some of you wouldn't mind that ...

1000k in a year. Blimey. My cab does that in a month.
Interesting reading. Been looking at the old stroker option for a while now. Might have to wait a bit now untill she's up to 150k. Not long to go, at 120 atm.
