We've used the 318is radiator numerous times on our project cars. It's a mix of hoses, I don't have the part numbers. Do you have them Nick?
Coupled with an electric pusher fan, it really tidies up the bay.

Re: Convertible m tech 2 side skirts on a chrome bumper 'ver
Are you looking to use only the skirts or in conjunction with the door pods??
If you're looking to use only the skirts, they will require some modification but should work fine.
Physically, no difference in skirt mounting on early vs late cars.

It's too rotted.
I'll most likely be replacing all the Hartge bits with OEM parts and selling car as is.

Hartge nuts: Help me identify the head
I've come across an early '83 i'll be breaking next week. It comes with a number of Hartge parts; Valve cover, manifold, foot rest, cluster, steering wheel, mono wiper. I'd like some help with identifying if there's anything special with this head. Is there a special marking Hartge used on the head ...

Re: Advice needed - Brake lights not working
Switch is attached to the pedal assembly. Get under there with a flashlight and press the brake in. You'll see where it contacts the switch. To test, just use a jumper wire and see if the brakes work.

One of those issues which could be cause by a half dozen things. I'll give you one of them. Spend 5 minutes, go and undo each grounding (earth) point, file the terminal and contact on the chassis to bare metal, reattach. Contacts on alternator too. Poor grounds can obviously lead to weakened spark, ...

Be careful, as the M40/42 VC to head threads are the most prone to stripping out in BMW history. I've helicoiled at least 10 heads in the past 5 years.
Just loosen bolts while engine is warm and don't overtighten when reinstalling.

Re: Exterior Trim - can they be rechromed?
Pretty good answers here. The front and rear screen trim is plastic/rubber with some sort of chrome on top. Regardless of the rest of the trim, i always replace these with the black later model trim. The new chrome from the dealer will still go bad and fade. $20 sounds about right. As far as the res...

Don't cut the end off, you need it to stay that length. Just slit it like I mentioned and It should give you the slack to yank the cable out. Use lots of grease when installing new ones.

Re: Changing Headlining in 2door Saloon
Do you have pop-out rear windows or fixed? It is damn near impossible to re-install the fixed ones, so as long as yours are pop-out, then its a relatively easy job, just time consuming. Can you find a black headliner? I've dyed a few in the past with good results. There are custom kits out there as ...

So what is the correct offset for my car ? Et20? Just my bit of input on this, there is no "correct" offset for the car. Jim, with my experience with the M20, the valve cover vent tube that connects to the throttle body sometimes collects oil. You can clean it and the port on the TB out but theres no saying it won't happen again. Be careful if you do remove the hose to clean it, though, due to where it is (on top of V...

Front jacking points? Do you mean the square/box shaped chunk? I've never used that as a jacking point, if it wasn't rusted out already, then it was too weak anyways and would crunch into the footwell pan. Always jack from the frame rails. If you're going to repair anything, I would reinforce the wh...
