Re: Engine stops reving around 5500rpm when throttle floored

The fuel regulator the engine is running is a standard BMW item which runs at 3 bar. The throttle position sensor was an issue initially with the ITB's but was solved quickly, so I doubt its that.

Engine stops reving around 5500rpm when throttle floored

Hi All, Wondering if you can give me some idea's around what I should be looking at with a problem I have with my e30 325i. The engine has been stroked out to 2.8l using a M52 crank. It has a branch manifold, Dbilas ITB inlet manfold, Schrik 272/284 cam, E36 M3 3l injectors and a Miller MAF. My prob...

Miller MAF install

Hi All,

Just received my miller MAF for my 88' 325i and they say that to release the pins in the ECU connector to push a slider??? Anyone got any idea what they are talking about as I can't work it out.

Cheers

Fuel Pressure Reg

Hi, I have an '88 325i which has been stroked out to 2.8l using a M52 crank, 6 branch manifold, Shrick 284/272 cam, and a dbilas 6 throttle body manifold. I am looking at getting an adjustable fuel pressure reg so I can adjust the fuel to be right rather than just the standard 3 bar. Does anyone hav...

Thanks guys. The reason for using the S50 crank, rods and pistons, is that we already have them sitting on a bench not doing anything, along with a M52 alloy block. The refinement in the S50 crank compared with the standard M52/54 cranks is worth going that little bit further. The reason for doing t...

M52 Engine Build

Hi All, I am going to build a M52 engine using the crank, rods and pistons from an S50 3l. We know that we have to bore the block out 2 mm which means we are going to have stainless steel liners put into the block to make sure that nothing goes wrong. My question is what head should we use, an M54B3...

Re:

Hi All, Thanks for your help, I did have the ICV the wrong way round but that wasn't the issue, the issue was that the TPS switch wasn't set 100% right, once I had reset it so it was right the engine just purrs. :) Does anyone know if Dbilas are meant to supply a throttle cable for RHD cars, I have ...

Re:

If you had of asked me that question before playing around I would have said yes. Now I am not so sure. I will check it all out tomorrow and see if that's the issue.

Thanks

Re:

Just another quick question, currently I still have a AFM and the standard Motronic, which has been chipped to deal with the cam, injectors, exhaust changes that I have made. I would like to keep the car as standard as possible but should I be looking at going to a megasquirt or something like that?...

Thanks Turbo-Brown I will look into that, though it means trailering the car to a workshop. Due to the car having a M52 2.8l crank and the dbilas I have E36 3.0l M3 injectors in it, which were fine before the dbilas upgrade, so it shouldn't be an issue with how much fuel though maybe I need a bigger...

M20 Dbilas issues

Hi All, I have a 88' 325i which I have installed a Dbilas multi throttle intake manifold onto and have got the engine running. The issue I am currently faced with is that it idle's fine but when the rev's rise to more than 1750rpm the revs drop down to 1000rpm and then rises back up to 1750 again be...

M20 Multi Throttle Bodies

Hi,

Do you know if it is possible to fit E36 M3 3.2 Evo multi throttle body manifold to a M20??? If so is there much to do apart from linkages, throttle cable and plenium chamber???

Thanks
Leigh
