WANTED - Grey coupe cloth door cards
I have a 1991 325i with unusual door cards. They are grey vinyl/cloth, but the cloth has very fine green/blue stripes through the material. Somebody on ebay is selling a 4 door set with the same material. I am using this for reference as it has a great photo of the exact material - https://www.ebay....

Power steering very heavy turning left
Before I try and go for a full new rack and pump, has anybody got any ideas why my PAS might be heavy in one direction only? All the research I have done suggests it is a valve within the rack? It also hisses/squelches as I try to turn against the resistance, but the noise doesn't dound like it is c...

Re: Strange whine from rear
Hi Brian, Thanks for the reply. I have three 325i's, and one pf them has what I would describe as a bit of a whiney diff (whines a bit arouund 50-60 mph). The noise coming from the car in question only happens for the first few miles when cold and is very loud. When warm, it and then disappears comp...

Strange whine from rear
Hi, My 325i Sport has recently developed a very strange rear end whine - rather than trying to describe it, I have found a youtube video of a car with exactly the same noise.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlYDzd3lDaA Does anybody have any ideas? I am sure it is coincidental, but this noise started...

Re: Yet another propshaft question
So I have finally got to the root of the problem - the idiots who did the work for me have used a guibo from a different BMW ! I still have no idea where they got it from, but in short I bought a new Lemforder one from GSF and instantly realised that it was both thinner and (most importantly) had 10m...

Re: Yet another propshaft question
Thank you Brian-I will closely examine the gearbox output flange when I disassemble things. Sounds quite a plausible reason for the vibration given that everything else is as it should be.

Yet another propshaft question
Hi, I have recently had issues with my 325i Sport (tech 2). It needed a new clutch, so I took it to a garage recommended by my Dad, and while they were doing the work they noticed that the guibo and centre support bearing were knackered. I was very wary of them doing the work, and told them to ensur...

I second ALP1NA there-Speedtouch is super polite, very helpful, dispatches the same day (even if you pay as late as 3pm) and his chips are fantastic! I have 3 325i's, and have chipped two of them with his chips. The improvement in torque in the lower rev range is very noticeable, and it really evens...

Re: very strange starting problem
Thanks for the advice Brian - bizarrely, I went out to it around lunchtime and tried starting it again(it has been tucked up in a warm garage all night) , and it cranked first time and sprung into life. The starter motor didn't sound as energetic as normal though, so I thought I would take a punt an...

very strange starting problem
Hi, I am really puzzled by a sudden starting problem my car has developed in the last 24 hours. It started with the car doing nothing for a second or two when the ignition was held in the normal starting position - it would then start as normal. The next two starts had a longer pause, with the final...

Re: how should i treat this appearing rust?
You are all wrong-as jozi recommends, the bilt hamber products are the ONLY rust remedy treatments that really work. I had some awful rust around the rear panel of mine 2 years ago, and used deox gel, and it took it right back to shiny metal (none of this 'turns it into a compound that can be overpa...

My cab is dropped 30 on eibachs too, amd i am on Boge turbos from GSF. Around £50 a corner, and no messing around with the different sized (and often missing) collar nuts that are bilstein specific.
Feels gorgeous on them.

Re: The Best front shocks? And fitting advice?
Nobody has mentioned Boge turbos. I have them on both of my 325's (one on new genuine mtech springs, the other on eibachs) and they both handle beautifully. Still a very comfortable everyday ride, but sporty too. Just my 2 cents...very affordable from GSF too now that ECP don't supply Bilstein any m...

Boge Turbos - do I need bumpstops?
Hi, I am just about to fit Boge Turbo's (GSFsupplied) to my 325i Coupe, along with a brand new set of BMW supplied mtech springs. Does anybody know whether the turbos have internal bump stops (like Bilstein b8's)? I have some brand new OEM bump stops, but the shaft of the turbos is wider than standa...

Re: B4's or boge turbos
Speak to Mr. Moooore and he will confirm that the b4's have a specific collar nut. The b4's don't taper in at the top like the original shocks, and therefore need a very thin walled collar nut. There is a thread on here somewhere all about it. In answer to your other question, no I didn't use the zo...

B4's or boge turbos
Well here's a dilemma... I have 2 e30's, one of which is on standard shocks/springs...the other on eibach springs but needing new shocks. So I ordered b4's for the eibach car from ECP-and as many have already mentioned on this form, they came without collar nuts. ECP have been absoutely hopeless, an...

Makes me very sad....very rare car that should be cherished in its current state. It's not about OEM guys vs modifiers, but about a piece of genuine original BMW heritage that is being lost forever. I am genuinely surprised that anybody would want to change a car as original and full of history as R...

Hey, very tidy original looking car. Well done! Do you have plans for it? Hopefully, you are what we call an 'oem homo' here on the 'zone (i.e. you are fastidious about keeping things 100% original). On the other hand, you might be planning a 'drop it to the floor' look - either way, it's your car, ...

I have had success by adjusting the vertical angle of the rear windows (the centre torx nut at the bottom of the window glass). By adjusting the rear windows so that the top edge points away from the interior of the car by less than 1cm, when all the windows are up the front windows are gently lever...

Don't expect them to tell you if they have any e30's or not. The guys who work there are not too sharp! Best off taking a punt. I was there two weeks ago and they had a brilliant red 320 moredoor se (had the se side skirts) and a white touring. They turn over the cars every few weeks or so, so they ...

Try bridges at pease pottage. They have two yards, one for newer cars (open every day) and one for older cars (open Saturdays only). The last few times I have been there they have had at least 1 e30 in the 'old' yard.
