Re: Polishing headlights?
oze30, what about the outside of the lens.... mine are pretty pitted - was thinking of using some fine sandpaper, and then going finer, but how long and difficult would it be? Is there not something else that I could use?

Re: m badged 325i's
Ziggy, I was being dead serious - I would rather come here and ask guys like Brianmooooore and the rest of the guys about a problem in my car, rather than go to the local stealership who refuses to look at my car, because, as one manager once told me - none of our mechanics are trained in the old st...

Munky, good point on the the clarification - although, I am here, being a South African, for the knowledge and geniousness of the Brits, who know their E30's better than the rest of the world....

Re: Odd noise coming from prop area
mrLEE30, it was changed by the local E30 specialists here, they are brilliant in what they do - surely if the didnt pre-load, it wouldnt have taken a year to go, and would definitly not have been fine one day, and then the next, getting into the car, starting it and driving off, its suddenly fubar'ed?

Odd noise coming from prop area
Ok, when I pull off in 1st, change to second, I get a squeaking noise coming from the prop shaft area - at first I thought it was from my front left wheel, because the noise only started immediately after I changed the wheel. It cant be the prop shaft, I changed that about a year ago, and I dont kil...

Re: M badged E30 325i"s 1988 -1991.
In South Africa, we have ///M Badged 325i's - its basically your standard 325 with ///M body kit and seats etc.... nothing engine wise or suspension wise. The ///M was a factory fitted badge out here. Mine has one. And no, it doesnt add 10 bhp's, I've checked

Re: Xmas in Cape Town - E30's everywhere!
I am from Cape Town, and the E30 here is the ultimate car to own. If you own one here, it needs to be locked up TIGHT, cause they get stolen for cash in transit heists. They are fast, damn fast and can take a beating. Yes, we love our E30's........... BIG TIME!

Re: What is this ///M for?
No, just plain ///M.
If it was the ///M3, trust me, it would have come off LONG time ago... either by my own hand, or the little pieces of crap who roam our streets, looking at helping themselves to tasty little badge tidbits.

Re: What is this ///M for?
They did make sports here, but they are EXTREMELY rare, as are M3's. Reason I'm asking is, as you guys probably know, SA isnt the most "savoury" of places when it comes to car theft etc. which stands to reason that some kid might like the ///M look and rip it off a now dead M3 (way back then) and st...

What is this ///M for?
I own a 325i, 1989 model. Its a South African car. And it has a ///M badge. Now I know how you guys feel about cars showing the M when it doesnt deserve it. The problem is, I have yet to see a 325i here in SA that DOESNT carry the ///M. Do you think that the M was a standard badge, added to our cars...

Re: Driveshaft - how??
Thansk guys. Ended up replacing the drive shaft, wish bone, and all related bits because the bolt holding the shaft to the hub was completely rusted. No wd40, blow torch or drilling would get it off. Must admit though, I think my wishbone was ever so slightly bent anyway.
Thanks for the advice though.
