Noise from engine on start up

Got a 325i that upon starting and driving hard (not thrashing it) there is a clattery sound, sounds like a tensioner on the chain or the chain rattling against something could it be anything else? but when you have driven it a few hundred metres it has gone and you don,t hear it anymore!

I had this problem and it was the boot opening slightly everytime I went over a bump because of the M3 spoiler it would not allow it to open yet the boot locked ok with a key - never did find out why it was like that just sprayed a bit of wd40 and it resolved itself!

I spent 5 years driving around in a MK2 Astra GTE, gradually doing more and more to it. It proved that FWD cars can go round corners. However, I wouldn't want to go back to a FWD hatch now after driving a 320 for a few weeks. . I had a 16v astra gte that had a blue print race engine pumping out abo...

In 321 it is basically a manual box requiring you to change the gears and it would,nt hurt to use it like this all the time but you have a auto so why not sit back and admire the scenery (summers coming  ) and let the car do its own thing!
