Brian Thanks for the ifo mate If I chose to do nothng will it be a problem? I have no alarm function but I do still have the Immobilser protection and can lock / unlock with the key If I choose to have a go at repair: sorry for asking but when you refer to the underbonnet unit do you mean the sirenb...

remote alarm problem????

Hi 325i touring on an H plate 1990 I have a problem with my BMW remote alarm,the key fob is OK as the little red light goes on when pressed and the immobiliser light flashes alowing me to start the car. However the central locking doesnt work on the remote and neither does the flashers and the beeps...

Its a no brainer mate, do it ASAP and try to get hold of dealer belt and tensioner, replace both

Yeah Take off the big rubber boot and check it thoroughly, any doubt then theres no doubt....replace it get hold of the BMW original about Ԛ£15 dealers have them. did mine last year when I got it off split underneath which I couldnt see when fitted. Best of luck Keep your foot to the firewall. ...
