Re: '91 318iS minor resto.. ;-)

Great rebuild thread, share the comments of the guy above, though not his choice of words ;)

I'd love the OEM look also (chrome kidney grill), but maybe "concourse fetishist" is a better term.

Coupe Sports leather interior, oxblood?

Morning,

Anyone got an Oxblood Sports interior for an E30 Coupe? Had that combo in an E28 once (standard trim I think, with metallic black/shadwline trim), looked great.

Re: WANTED e30's dead or alive , projects, scrap turds any model.

Morning Mick, I've got an ebay unicorn barn find plain boggo 316i with average mileage. Only asking £3000 as it's not yet restored or MOT'd ;) Seriously, I'll keep my eyes peeled, the Mrs won't let me have anymore. Funnily enough I just missed out on a maroon chromie last week, literally in the next...

Thanks for the reply. Please can you give me a price minus the middle section (the bit that connects to the manifold) ?

Also can you supply a 3rd price not including the middle or rear section?

Thanks in advance,

318is exhaust price please

Morning, I'm after an exhaust system for an M42 318is. It's a non-cat version, but I cannot find the part number on Real OEM (they only list NLA cat versions). Ideally I wilI need everything beyond the exhuast manifold. Guessing it might be more cost effective to go for a stainless option but if the...

Re: red wagon project

Down South we would have undone those manifold studs by fingers, making a meal of it Micky  Joking aside, what is the reason for fitting the E36 M42 and not something 6 cylinder related? The M42 in an E30 is a wonderful thing, perfectly balanced for pressing on, especially around the twisty s...

New MOT rules headlight adjusters fail

Morning all, Just had my E30 fail MOT on the headlight height adjusters. All my previous E30s (facelift) all had this issue, aka the headlight adjusters are usually seized so didn't bother sorting it but now apparently it is now a fail with the new mot rules. I normally set the headlights manually o...

Left field suggestion, how about a Mercedes supercharged M111 engine? Something like a M111.974 from a 1st gen CLK230 / SLK230 manual would work, you can pick up an entire car for peanuts at the moment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_M111_engine Quick cheap 4 cylinder engine tech, from ...

Hi there, My thoughts: "Question is, would it be worth buying one and keeping one as an investment?" Yes, they are super straightforward cars to maintain, great to drive, will keep going up as long as the classic car market doesn't crash. "Are they likely to keep rising in price?" Unless there is a ...

Re: What the ...... Car Cover has Ruined my Bonnet!

I sorted a bonnet like that recently, did it by hand with G3 compound. Tip from a detailer I know was to first wipe the surface with thinners. With a proper mop it would've been quicker but a few hours work had it sorted (944 bonnet, probably similar size to an E30)
