Hi Katenacrazy
No i don't rebuild auto gearboxes as it's a specialised job.
Your best bet would be a secondhand unit, I don't have one i'm afraid, i'm sure if you put a post in the wanted section you would have some luck.
Nice to hear from you and thanks.

Have just heard back from the dealers, some of the early keys aren't available anymore, and guess what, mine is one of them!
A new lock set is £100, readily available from the uk....it's almost like they have planned it

Rang BMW stealers today, they have "emailed Germany" I can almost feel my pants being pulled down
adit, I wish I had a key to copy, I know some lock places can supply a key to match a barrel, but thought I would try the dealers first.

Tech 2 sideskirt fitting templates
Hi all Don't know if this is the right section, but here we go.. Just fitted some Tech 2 sideskirts and I now have the proper BMW templates to drill the holes in the sills to fit the clips. I had to order these from Germany. These make the job very easy, just tape to the car and drill where marked. ...

Alpina wheel centre cap key?
I need to order a Alpina wheel centre cap key, just bought some wheels and there is no key with them!
There is a key number stamped on the lock barrels, can I just order a new key from BMW?
Anyone else managed to get hold of one?

Re: 325i into 320i - running, but help required...
Was the engine running ok before your installed it?
If the answer is yes i would re check the timing first.
If the answer is no start with the basics, check the plugs / leads / cap / rotor and make sure there are no airleaks.

Brake servo relocating plates
Just gathering parts together to do my S50 swap in the winter.
I want to move my brake master cylinder/servo over to make enough room for the S50 plenum chamber.
I read on here that somebody made some reinforcement plates to do this, can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

mmmm, all very interesting, yes I know a 10% increase is 30bhp hence the little winky on my original post...surely if there was scope for such a great increase in power BMW would have capitalised on it in the first place.... All in all don't know what to do now, as i see it my options are as follows...

Re: S50 exhaust manifolds..
Hmmm, do I take it their power figures are a little on the genorous side then? They did quote their manifold/system to yeild a 10% increase in power on a otherwise standard engine, which i thought was a little optamistic  Just to clear up any confusion as this thread seems to be going a little...

Re: m50 swap wiring help needed
A tip that was given to me (by danthe) was to use 2 earth leads (one each side of the engine) as the heat from the exhaust manifold tends to fry the original on the o/s. Put another on the n/s of the engine as a belt and braces approach, won't cost much and may save you alot of greif..

Check the coil lead, I had a 325i that used to do that, the engine movement was pulling on the lead and cutting the engine, took me ages to find it...worth a look.

Re: S50 exhaust manifolds..
I'm going to go for the full system.
The above clip sounds a bit like mine does at the moment with a e30 scorpion m3 system and modified 328i manifolds, although mine is a little more raspy then that, can't beat 24v rightness

Re: how good does an m50'd e30 go?
There is no comparision to be had between the two engines. I have driven many 325i's and my M50'd car is in a different league. Its not just about power/torque figures/weights, you only have to drive a M50 powered car to really notice the difference. The M50 loves to rev, once it gets past 4000rpm i...

Re: S50 exhaust manifolds..
Spoke to Fritzbits today, going to go with one of their manifolds/systems, it isn't cheap, but they are quoting good power gains over stock with their system fitted to a S50. I have a customers E28 in at the moment with a m30 fitted, it has one of their manifolds and system on it and sounds epic, de...

Re: M52 conversion... Advice/Info/Tips
If it helps I may have a complete M50 conversion available at the end of the summer. It's in my car at the moment, runs well and is in daily use. The only reason I will be getting rid is I have a doner E36 with a S50 which I will be pulling out to go in the E30. As above, you need a e34 sump and dip...

Re: S50 exhaust manifolds..
I think in that case I will go for a Fritzbits manifold then, as long as the quality is good. I currently have a e30 m3 scorpion exhaust system on my car, joined to my m52 manifold using sliding joints, so sounds like a similar arrangement to what I already have, and I would like obviously like to k...

Re: S50 exhaust manifolds..
Thanks for all the replys guys. It's begining to look like a proper manifold then if I want factory figure power, or have a go at "engineering" a solution using the original manifold, with the possability of losing power. It's a shame the manifolds on sale are so expensive, as it makes you feel like...

I've just fitted a Walbro 255 in tank pump to mine, the cradle does need modifying, and 2 wires need to be soldered. As others have said it is noisy, very noisy in fact, louder then when the standard pump was knackered, so something to consider imo, may not suit everyone. I have the original tank an...

If your engine is from a touring it will have 3 outlets on the pas pump, blanking one off does not work, been there, done that, you will need a pump off a saloon with 2 outlets.

Thats good news, I modified some M52 manifolds to fit the M50, but wasn't sure if it was doable for the S50.
