Really? What budget are you looking at? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201133410127215 That's been to the moon and back! I'd pay up to £4k for the right car, but they are mostly junk. I think I'm limiting the choice somewhat by looking only at manuals, but I really don't fancy an aut...

E39s are cack. I've been to look at 3 that have all been 'immaculate', and they've all been rusty junk - all 2000/01 models as well. Back looking for an e30 now, an eminently restorable 325 2door sold from under my nose this morning and had me punching the laptop... I officially hate old cars, ebay,...

Ouch.. Sorry to see that fella, looked clean. I think the ditchfinders were as much a contribution to it as anything from the look of it.. The crappy tyres were the 1st thing I noticed. Isn't there a piece that needs to be bonded to the windscreen that the mirror then clips into or something? I only ask as my Dad's cab came with the mirror in the glovebox and a poxy halfords thing stuck to the screen, and someone I asked at the time said that it was like this. We haven't bothered l...

Be good to here from drivers with plenty of experience driving in those years 1980s and before???? I don't know about pre 1980's but the E30 is the only car I have ever had with ABS and don't think I have ever used it. Been driving for 20 years and only one minor prang. Re: This isn't right - "Alpina C2"

I checked online and this car is registered as being blue..... I wouldn't necessarily read anything into that, we had an old Honda that the previous aged owner had had from new that was purple on the v5 - it's just what the tart who does the first registration puts on the form. You'd need to check ...

Re: early high comp 325i sport MPG ?

Biggest difference I've found on M20s is length of journeys - if it never geets fully hot, ie not just the coolant gauge, it will give cack mpg. 35 on a run is to be expected. I was getting high teens on my 8-mile commute though, in the 320 before it got smashed to bits. 325s are often etter because...

Re: Diy convertible hood

I watched a guy change the hood on my MX-5, which is generally known to be relatively easy, and that looked hard enough to do well. Would want to begin trying an e30 hood - if it takes days and ends up fitting poorly, it's going to be a bit of a waste of what you spend on the hood itself. Depends ho...

Re: This isn't right - "Alpina C2"

E-plate e30s are weird - the 88MY cars have loads of little detail differences to the pre/post facelift cars, not least the 'bulseye' headlights that a lot of them have. Interestingly, this car has the non-projector lights though, which suggests to me it was a pre-88MY car. Could have had the kit fi...

Roof isn't obviously warped, it's the shadow of overhanging trees in the pic. The door shuts are all out to lunch though, so the whole car is banana'd. Regarding the fuel/oil on the road thing, I'm not going to do anything about it - I don't think it would get me anywhere and would be a whole hill o...

Si with the best will in the world it's impossible to run out of talent in a spazbox 320, it must have been diesel on the track or ditchfinders? All 3 I reckon! One other problem, if you are fitting this to a saloon, is that 320's only have a single tailpipe, so the cut out in the valance may not be wide enough for the 325 system's twin pipes. Only on prefacelifts do 320s have the single tailpipe, postfacelifts have twin pipes, as in my sig! What do I win ...
