Bleedin(g) brakes - Seized bleed valve

Went to replace the brake fluid today only problem faced was the fact that the rear offside valve has seized solid typical first one to do too. Trying to free it off just led to it getting less and less nut shaped. So I will order a replacement (maybe two) just in case. Just to check, what happens w...

Thanks for all the replies. We are racing in the CSCC Future Classics got out at Cadwell and Snetterton with them this year. At Cadwell we managed a few laps before limping off the track, we finished at Snetterton. First race, 40 starters and we finished 26th. Very pleased with that. Been doing a lo...

Engine Reliability

So it looks like our 2nd engine in 3 months is on it's last legs and it it was a horse you'd shoot it. Our first M20b25 lasted some 14 trackdays and 3 laps at Cadwell. Its replacement quali and race at Snetterton and 2 days at Oulton. It then spat its coolant out and looks like it won't be coming ba...

Re: Oil/Temp Issue

I have to admit our first engine (suffered) 14 trackdays the first 10 or so without a baffled sump and only failed at Cadwell. The second is yet to be diagnosed, it hasn't fatally expired as yet just suffering from this oil pressure and temperature problem. We also worked out for the cost of a handb...

Re: Oil/Temp Issue

It would make sense actually that x/30 is too thin especially at temperature. It looks like we need to seek assistance of a informed engine builder who can build a box fresh unit rather than us using 20 year old engines and them failing understandably. :( it hurts just to think about how much cash t...

Oil/Temp Issue

We were out at Oulton yesterday in the race car and had some weird goings on. We replaced the engine one race and two track days ago. In that time we've also change the oil and filter. We are using Fuchs 5w/40 Semi-Synth Whilst on track we could notice immediately that the engine was making a tickin...

325 Engine/Engine Builder

Well in our first outing with the CSCC in the Future Classic the inevitable happened to our poor engine. Resulting in it ending up with a significant additional hole in the block. Bad news. So we need a new engine and ideally someone who may know how best to fit it. We were at Cadwell and obviously ...

Looking to replace the existing battery that weighs as much as a small planet with something lighter and more lithe.

Looking at an Odyssey or Red Top any recommendations?

I agree with the above. I would probably be able to tell you if it was racing, feels like it's the only thing I've read for ages. However the Rallying section is totally different and I haven't ventured there.

Battery - Boot install

Wonder if someone knows the answer. Our 325 has the battery installed in the boot, looks like it was like that from the factory rather than installed later. At some stage there must have been something securing the battery but this has gone awol. So what does secure the battery in? and will it pass ...

Ste, that is brilliant thank you for the pics.
We removed the sunroof cage today. What a poxy job.
Going to get the panel sorted sharpish to replace. What was the thickness of the steel you used?
Was thinking of using 2mm stainless but will go thiner if regs allow.

We've bought a trailer and it'll be going off the road shortly. Cheaper than taxing, insuring and MOT'ing it every year only to drive it to and from race tracks. Horrible to drive on the roads now anyway.
