Had same prob with my 320. Lip around boot where the seal sits had some small holes so sorted those and adjusted the boot for a better seal. Replaced light seals, cost about a tenner from BMW. Used some instant gasket around the ariel seal as it had come adrift a bit. Problem sorted for a while but ...

As a cheap option get yourself to GSF and buy a set of lowering springs (35-40mm) and replace the standard shocks with gas shocks. Pointless putting new springs on knackered old shocks, and this option should give you a bit of change to start buying some polybushes for the front to improve your stee...
