I would just try taking it it to your mot place, they are qualified people and if they will put on paper what your engine is then i would think the dvla will take that

Iv used a letter from my mot place for this although i did give the dvla the engine number too,, the mot bloke just stuck his head under the bonnet to make sure everything looked ok and then gave me a piece of headed paper from his garage saying everything was ok, got the v5 after a couple of weeks

Just a quick one guys and gals, what ratio diff would be in my 89 325i touring from standard? Im hoping to get a slipper and would like to keep the ratio the same, cheers all

Just a quick thanks to Brianmoooore for the sound info, had a look today and all i can work out is that it was either loose or not connected but without knowing where it was i dont think i would have found it, its working fine now, nice one

Ok thats worth a look but i still dont get why theres no power at the motor, i wonder if theres anything between the switch which has power and the wirings journey to the back,, i imagine theres a broken wire somewhere but short of ripping the wiring out to check it i think i can live without it, i ...

Touring rear wiper not working
As above, iv checked the power at the motor and there isnt any, iv checked the wires from the motor to under the headlining and nothings broken, theres power at the switch and the switch works. Is there any relays anywhere because i cant see any in the manual. It worked when i first got the car then...

Iv bought some of these 4 stud motorsport wheels and i know they're not the best loved wheels for an e30 but i quite like them, what id like to know is will they fit on my touring if i fit 225/45.17s all round, the offset is et20 which im sure is right but has anyone done this, prefferably with pict...

Leaky sunroof!!
On my touring everytime it rains or it gets washed i get a drip from the back of the headlining onto the luggage cover. I dont think its the boot seal as it looks ok but the sunroof never looks to seal properly, is there any drain holes in the roof that could be blocked or does anyone know where i c...

Well iv just swapped them over and the new one was no different to the original apart from the the original had a code ending in 380 and the new one i tried ended in 173, didnt make any difference in how it drove though

Cant see any solder at all, the label is lifted though on three corners and its only just been opened after years of sitting in my mates shed and the tabs to open it looked like they had been played with before, thats why we thought something had been done

Dam ok, is there a chance then that its a sport one as opposed to a touring one, i only say because the revs seemed more snappy, ill give it a proper try at the weekend

Quick question about seats
What other seats from different BMW models will fit straight into an E30, it must have been asked before but i cant find anything and as my drivers seat is hanging its time to start looking for something else

Aah fair enough, to be honest if they stuck out much more they would rub the arch's but it does need to go up at the back, its just the way the kit lowered it but i will make changes

I think if i do anything to the height ill raise the rear slightly, i like the low look but its not very practical, why do you say the offsets wrong Jhonno, i thought it looked about right, do you think they stick out too far or too far in, the clearance is just right at the back and the wheels dont...

I think it needs to come down but its already got 60mm springs on the front, unless they got it wrong and gave me 40s or something, the only part that scrapes is the middle box and it scrapes bad, im going to have to try to bend it to get it closer to the floorpan, iv been on the lookout for an IS f...

Iv found a place on flea bay that does them for £46 posted but iv just lost a genuine one on the bay for £27 posted, gutted. 318/325is FRONT SPOILER???
Would the lower front spoiler from a 318is or a325is fit straight onto my standard touring bumper? I love the look these give the front of an e30 and now im low it would finish it off a treat.
