Retrofitting Heated Mirrors on a 325i Touring !

Hi all, I have a quick question, Last time I did this I just tapped into the brown and blue wires at the back of the mirror motor and soldered on feed wires for the heated mirror glass on each side. This worked well. Last night I tried this and when I switch on the ignition the mirror motor runs con...

OBC Code plug for a 1990 325i Touring

Hi there, If someone happens to have a 13 button OBC that was factory fitted to a UK E30 325i Touring without Catalytic Converter, I'd be glad to know which codeplug version was used. The codeplug is slotted into the back of the OBC unit The following table is referenced on the German E30 site www.e...

Thanks a lot for the response, looks like there's nobody from Co. Antrim or Co. Down online. If I was at a stretch I might go to BMW (Border Motor Works) near Strabane which is closer than Donegal but since the job would mean leaving the car it would be better to find something near Belfast Regards,...

Getting E30s worked on in Belfast or elsewhere in N.I.

Hello, I need to have one if not 2 rear wheel bearings replaces in my tourer and would like to ask if there are any Northern Irish zoners that can recommend a workshop in the Belfast area or even elsewhere in NI that regularly works on E30s and isn't too flash and expensive. I've heard that replacin...

Query on headlight wiper parts

Hello,

What is the right price for a set of used tested headlight wash/wipe motors?

Also what should the bottle mounted controller relay cost?

Thanks a lot,

Brian, The wipers are both working now on every 5th time with the lights on. After scraping the contacts on the washer bottle unit the motors came to life. Just shows that electrical contact solvent cleaner can only do so much - sometimes you need to scrape the contacts clean. Do you know in which m...

Brian, After I finished cleaning, testing and refitting the motors I didn't realize the fun was just starting :? 318i & Horn upgrade

Hello,

Can anybody advise which recent twin tone BMW horn can be used on an E30 318i without extra wiring? Has anybody done this upgrade?

The horn on my car is on it's last legs and always sounded a bit meek - My 320 tourer, now sold, had twin horns that sounded great,

Thanks,

Grade of oil for non - LSD diffs 75w90?

'Morning !

I have 2 Tourings, a 320 & a 318i and neither have LSDs.

What grade oil would be recommended for the Diffs?

The 320 has 150k miles and the 318i has 88kmiles in case that is relevant.

Also, what oil volumes do the diffs take ?

Thanks,

It is not "Soft off", just "off" but I'm happy that it delays 8 seconds. I'll drop Michael in Germany an email to see if he has a "soft-off" relay with the same pinout as the one I just fitted. on offer is a set of front Recaro seats,

I've already got a set of heated comfort black leather seats in my Touring.

If I go for these I'll probably move the heating elements into the Recaros -another interesting project

Can you give a bit more information on the "common and easily repaired fault inside the instrument cluster"?
A friend asked me about this recently and his brake pads and wear sensors are new and the brake wear circuit looked complete.
